The Chicago Shakespeare Theater is presenting this in different parks around the city over the next month or so FOR FREE. The act out a condensed version of a play and try to make it entertaining for adults and able to be understood by children. No tickets, just bring your blanket or lawn chairs and some food to enjoy an excellent production at no cost.

This weekend is Welles Park near Lincoln Square at 6:30 on both Friday and Saturday nights. I would bet you will even get an opportunity to do some Bernstien family stalking at one of the shows if that interests you.

Grab a fresh made sandwich at one of the delis in Lincoln Square and sit on the hallowed grounds once patrolled by none other than Sir Lawrence Holmes during his Score softball days.

Cool. I'm busy this weekend but I'm going to try and catch one of these, maybe take my Mom to the one at Wilson Park at the end of the month. Thanks for posting this.

I would really encourage you to bring kids. I think it is important for kids to appreciate live theater and being in a park makes it a stressless introduction.

Mayor: l don't want any more trouble like you had last year. That's my policy.

Frank Drebin: When l see five weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in a park, l shoot the bastards. That's my policy.

Mayor: That was a Shakespeare in the Park production of ''Julius Caesar''! You killed five actors! Good ones!

Good idea. I'll bring Dr. Ken's. They're hilarious.

Mr. Reason is so old, Shakespeare did him in the park.
