Begin training for a 10K Turkey Trot. I had planned on running 5 and 10K's all summer but
I found out if you don't actually sign up and commit to something the point of training is lost
on me. 4 months will be plenty of time to train I think. Will go out for a jog tonight and see
how it goes, it has been a while. I have been eating better this summer until just recently.
I also have a trip to Disney in October so it would be nice to feel good jumping in the pool
with my niece and nephew as I am sure pics will be taken.

I have been struggling lately. Gained a few lbs back and have been slacking on the exercise. Gotta get back after it!

If done correctly, it certainly is.

Yoga is solid, as well.

FWIW the dude who invented the p90x workouts has said if he could do only 1 workout the rest of his life it would be yoga. So there's that. :|

ive been doing his Power 90 workout (basically p90x for pussies....instead of like 10 different workouts its just cardio and weights on alternating days)
but its a hell of a workout for sure, and each one starts with stretching , then power yoga....and i can see where he's coming from, it can be a very effective workout

C'mon, its RFDC. This would be a more appropriate quote;

ELAINE: Oh, it was nothing, for-forget it.

GREG: See that guy right there?

ELAINE: Yup, you mean him?

GREG: I caught him urinating in the shower. I'm thinking about turning him in, too.

In the spring / early summer I completed the 60 days of the Insanity workout, ate healthy and was probably in the best shape of my adult life. Last 6 weeks Ive been a total fucking lump, eating crap, laughing at the thought of working out and have probably given back 50% of what I gained. On vacation this week but Sunday I will be starting the 60 day Insanity workout again . Want to finish the year strong and stay in shape this time and keep it going through the rest of the year.

2 weeks into the Caveman diet & Ive dropped 8 pounds & feel the best I have felt in a long time. Not eating dairy, bread, & junk & processed foods is getting easier. Dinner tonight was 3 dozen oysters at The Country House in Geneva.
I gotta get my ass to the gym though.

I really tried to knock out processed foods when I was working out regularly, but no dairy for me would be tough. Eat a lot of greek yogurt.

Yup. Monday nights are $4 Mussels. Tuesday nights are .50 cent oysters. I spend a lot of Monday & Tuesdays here.

Got a new app on my phone called Map my Walk that I have been doing to track some courses for me to jog
and get back into things. Walked the dog 1.7 miles yesterday and then put him in the house and jogged it.
Felt good to get back out there so just need to stick with it. Finished in about 16 minutes so that is about my
usual just under 10 minute mile pace.

3 weeks on the Caveman diet & I've lost 13 pounds. No dairy, bread, pasta, sugar or processed foods in 3 weeks. Despite the fact that I love dairy products, this is the easiest diet that I have ever tried.

Still have the other 2 floors, the hallways and exterior left. Plus, the landscape, it needs to be totally redone.

I wish others having posted in this thread better luck with their resolutions. My Aunt Sally had a heart attack and died this weekend and I had not finished the work on her 3 flat....not even close really. I know she appreciated what I did get done, but I wish I had more time and been able to get it all completed.

Thank You. She was the "fun" Aunt. A bit wild and spirited. Used to go to Vegas a couple time a year. Even saw Elvis a couple times there. I used to stop by to see her on my way to/from Cub's games frequently and I know it's going to be strange to drive by now, knowing she's gone. I didn't really expect any sympathetic expression from you Chus, but I appreciate it all the more for that reason.

Steve, it's no secret that you are not one of my favorite posters, but I'm not gonna piss all over you, after you lost a family member.

After my father died last year, I received many kind words from my CSFMB brethren, and it made a difficult time a bit easier.

It sucks when you wanted to say or do something and lose them before you get that done. I've dealt with that as well.

Sorry to hear that, Steve.

dropped 21 since the beginning of summer by staying under 1,800 cals most days. Biggest changes: out are the donuts, sugar and cream in the coffee, soups for lunch.

Made the commitment to run a 10K Turkey Trot the morning of Thanksgiving along Lake Michigan.
I ran this race 2 years ago and was really the last time I was jogging seriously. I don't think I'd
run more than 1.5 miles outside since then. Yesterday I made it just over 2.5 miles so at least it
was a start.
