I have had a refrain/chorus in my head for over a week and I cannot remember the artist or title.
It's probably a mid-80's era R & B tune, possibly Kool and the Gang
where the refrain could be "Baby Tonight", "Maybe tonight", or "Maybe the night"
followed by a female voice saying "Allright.....tonight"......

This was a wildly popular mainstream song, I just can't put my finger on it.

Kthnxbai.
:D

I'm stuck on this song yesterday. I can't seem to get it out of my head. I don't know the name of that. "She's a heart breaker, love taker . . ..Oh. Oh" . . .very catchy. You know what? I can't stay awake for that guy. What is this? People? Huh, the most beautiful people people. Ally Sellecca. Nothing wrong with that!

Nice little trip down memory lane. Hunting down your issue provided me with these two gems:

Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - Indeep
Anita Ward - Ring My Bell

The Whispers will be in the mix too.

Perhaps my favorite episode ..... long before the internetz existed, I was the guy people came to for such-and-such song .... now, I'm a dinosaur (well, by weight anyway).

I remember "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life" and "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" blaring down the hall in the dorms every Friday/Saturday night back in '82. :drunken:

No connection, just like this song.

I hereby hijack this thread in the name of LaVert and rechristen it the Classic Hits Dance Party Thread.

Amen.

Maybe ten or twelve years ago the City used to put on a street fair in the summer called Celebrate on State. They would close off State from maybe Adams north to Lake or Wacker, have food vendors, live music, etc. I think it started on a Thursday and informally "opened" around 4pm or so. One Thursday or Friday I was walking north from about Congress at about 1 in the afternoon. It was balmy, sunny, perfect skirtwatching weather. In the distance I faintly heard a (good) cover band soundchecking this song. Just the drums, bass, chunky piano chords, and the "MmmHmm" vocal part for a good 5 minutes, at least up until Washington, when they started working in the vocals and other instruments. This song is inextricably linked to that day and that time in my brain.

Blackstreet - No Diggity
