The ugly truth under all this is that while there are indeed many beloved black players in Cubs history, it does seem like there's a prerequisite for smiling extroversion that isn't there for white players. The deserved apathy towards B&B has robbed the board of beauties like this. Nicely done.

I don't know why they are so shocked that the majority of "over-loved" Cubs' players tend to be white guys. The majority of fans are white and people tend to enjoy seeing some part of themselves in professional athletes (see: referring to your favorite team with the royal "we") so it should be no surprise that white fans would be fans of white players that most resemble them.
