If I were made to say something positive, all I can think of is 'at least it's not Ryan Reynolds'.

I may think of somebody better later, but this is just fucking bad. Maybe he's a good director ... everyone pretended he was for a fairly pedantic movie whatever it was (I did see it ... wasn't terrible, but Christ I have no idea what was so special about it ... maybe WZ can tell me why I'm dumb or why I'm right - but still dumb).

It is, of course, about good story and characters, but since Affleck's character is co-billed in the title and such a huge part of the Justice League (etc), it isn't like we're talking about him being cast as the Martian Manhunter ... actually, he'd be about right for that imo ... Aquaman too.

No one can be that bad. I mean he made everyone else in that movie look better compared to him.

Think about it,remember when they cast Keaton. People where losing their minds. He pulled it off incredibly.
Bale is going to be a tough act to follow. If I was Ben I would be studying Bale and Keaton. Why where they so good at the role,easy they where intense. Both in the role of Batman and as Bruce Wayne.I would also suggest him to watch some of the animated stuff,good stuff especially Mask of the Phantasm. As long as they keep it not too silly he will be fine. He was not what was wrong with Daredevil. The problem with that movie was character overload.

just don't make him do the "batman voice"...i think affleck's low key performance in "argo" showed some promise as far as playing batman that way. kind of like in the animated series...

They should get Adam West to play the Mayor.

Real genius is to have West play a retired Batman/Bruce Wayne and Affleck to play Dick Grayson. West though is pushing his 80's I think so that wouldn't work. Maybe Affleck could play Bruce Wayne the 3rd. West could be the original Bruce Wayne. They could do a whole shpiel on why the new Batman even exists.

I thought Josh Brolin would have been a good fit. I think Ben will be fine as Batman, it's Bruce Wayne that I'm concerned about. Bale was really really good as Wayne. There has to be that conflict under the surface that Bale always had, that I don't think (at first glance) Ben has. Ben's look is just too happy for me.


That said, if Bale hadn't come along, I think Affleck fits right in to the Batman lineage of before. Problem is, Bale was so good, it will be really hard to match.




WW as Lex is a great casting. Got me very excited about the movie again.

I never read but why did Bale, well, bail? Money or just tired of it?
