Of course not. Why would Bern$tein agree to have him on? Sounds like Coop and Mitch have some sort of manlove thing going on, so I guess that's it.

Matt Harvey: what do you think?

Uhhhh, look, I don't know. I just heard about it is all. Without watching film, hard to say. I know he throws hard. Pitching is a violent thing. But I don't know.

THANKS WSCR!

I don't disagree about Coop, but Buddy Bell seems to be on every time I turn on the radio and he talks an awful lot without ever saying a damn thing.

cooper comes on the station because the station pays him nicely to talk once a week.... the station hasn't told him to stop being a dick on the air.... i think they think it makes for more interesting radio when it is confrontational..... bernstein should have known cooper would have no comment on another team's players, that's his standard line "i'm only thinking about white sox" response.

"tall, back and closed" was the extent of Coop's analysis.

Coop did peg Bernstein at being 5'5". Bernstein tried to claim 5'8"

Dan wanted to talk to coop yesterday about the arm injury thing. another baseball prospectus article or something. so this was per Dan's request.

Coop isn't on 'SCR regularly anymore is he?

That's just it. The question wasn't going to be about another team's pitcher. It was about injuries in general, how to avoid them, can they be predicted, etc. Coop blew the question. They slowly worked around to what Bernstein was going to ask him, but it wasn't a really good answer by then. Just bluster and back patting.

"We here at team WSOX over the last 11 years have the fewest injuries of any MLB team. Real proud of myself, oh and Herm and that fitness guy too. "

White chocolate M&Ms with candy cane coating, I think.

I thought what Coop said was very interesting. He doesn't think pitcher injuries are random. He thinks there is a reason a pitcher gets hurt. Either bad mechanics or overuse. He said something along the lines of "God didn't wake up one day and decide to give a pitcher an injury." This goes against the popular belief that a pitcher only has so many bullets in the chamber.

thanks Drop In, will do.

I've always liked Rozner with Bernstein. He does seem to make things better.

I tuned in at about 4:50 to hear Barry snap at drinky saying "Ok, Matt, I'll buy your train ticket. Enough!!!"

It sounded like it was a thing. Barry sounded pissed. Could have been a joke and I'm misreading it.

What was that about?

Berns & Roz should be a full time show. Rosey should have a regular weekday gig too. The Score needs more Joo's!

I agree that Rozner is good, but I've no doubt that he'd wear thin if he were there ALL. THE. TIME. His inability to let a stupid joke go is top of the list for me.

DB: Coming up we have Hub, and he's all yours. That's why we have him two days, one day we hit him with all of our football questions...the next day, today, he is all yours!

BR: Great, I've got a lot of questions for him.

DB: No, Barry, I was speaking to the listener. The audience.

BR: But I get to ask him a lot of questions, right?

DB: No, that was yesterday.

BR: Great, I can't wait to ask him questions!

DB: ....

Also, could you not hear Bernstein trying to pull quote-worthy stuff out of Lomas Brown? It. Was. Important. Radio.

No doubt Danny was jerking off while trying to get CTE stuff out of Lomas.

Rozner and Rosenbloom are the same kind of guy. They are nice weekend guys who seem like they should be doing more but when they more you will be begging for them to be gone

I would 100% agree with the Rosenbloom as his schtick gets old during the actual show.

Rozner I like, but agree that he does wear on your ears and mind if listened to for an extended period of time. Harry Seaward's post above highlights his repetitiveness perfectly as Rozner has been doing that for years.

I think given a full time gig that Rozner would be self evaluative enough to not do that over the long term.

I don't think they're exactly the same. Rosenbloom is repetitive like a bad Saturday Night Live skit. He's working at about 1.5 Hanleys most of the time. Rozner can talk intelligently about sports. The one thing that's nice about him working with bernstein is that danny obviously respects him much more than the other co-hosts he works with. Barry has his New Trier card, although by attending NIU he managed to out-underachieve even li'l danny.

The good thing about Rosie is that he had the chance at hosting and was a failure due to his personality. He had his wings clipped and is more humble. Rozner would think he was king of the world if he got a full time gig. Then he would insist on talking hockey when the on air talent was directed to be in hyper Bear talk mode.

Wasn't Rosenbloom a failure because he was paired with Dick Picture?

I have the same concerns about Rozner deep down, that he would wear thin if he were there every day. Still, he's the best fill-in for afternoons, and he, like Rosenbloom, won't let Dan push him around. Also, not only is he a hockey guy, but he shares my get-the-hell-over-the-Tallon-thing-already sensibilities.

Ultimately, though, I have to think management wants a Cubs/Blackhawks guy in afternoon drive like it wants a hole in the head. Those teams are 4 and 5 on the WSCR Ass-Tonguing Depth Chart, possibly lower if colleges are paying them enough. They don't want that as a strong suit.

ah yes, because drive time at the score is currently so friendly to the white sox...

Hockey talk with Mac and Rozner back to back would be unBEARable.

When the chips are down, you know where they stand. Remember, if you don't go to Sox games to enjoy their wide variety of delicious concessions, affordable parking, and adequate architecture, that can only mean you hate blacks and Jews.
