I say the 1st two words out of Mikes mouth are "Kyle Orton". Get ready for 6 months of Orton love from Mike.

He did look pretty good though. I thought for a while that maybe the reason they played him so long is that they were trying to "showcase" him a bit....that maybe they don't need all three and Lovie and Jerry were going to try to trade him to a team that needs QB depth. With Rex, Griese, and Leak...maybe that's all they feel they need.

Pasta, it's the preseason and Orton was playing against guys who will probably not make the Texans roster.
I always love these kinds of comments IN THE PRESEASON.

He was blocked for by guys who will probably not make the BEARS roster. It was just a hunch. If he does get traded, I will be the first one to say I told you so!

I don't see any reason to trade Orton or Griese. Let's enjoy the depth that they hopefully will have for this upcoming season, and reevaluate in the off-season. Obviously, if Orton wins the #2 job, this will be Griese's last year in Chicago because of his contract, but I need to see more from both of them before I consider flopping Griese for Orton. It's a good problem to have though.

I'm sure. Orton played fine. But guess what? If you look across the league there are tons of 2nd and 3rd stringers who played fine. It means shit. He's playing against nobodys. He'll be a fine back up and maybe have a shot to start some where else someday.

But Grossman and Griese played well too. It's a non issue but dumb Pappy will bring up the "Orton should start" crap to kill some of his 4 hour show and because he actually beleives it.

I'll bring it up again. Pappy didn't like Peyton Manning before his Super Bowl victory yet loved Kyle Orton. Enough said. That's our meat ball.

Think the Falcon would give us a first rounder for him?

Basing an evaluation of Orton on a preseason game is as invalid as basing it on games played as a rookie. I just want to see progress in his development and it looks like it is happening.

Against the practice team of the Houston Texans. Hell, against them? I think even Joe Theisman post leg destruction could of looked good against them.

But this is the time of the year that North becomes absolutely unlistenable. The x-over from baseball to football, as he looses complete focus.

North is at lost, when he can;t say bad things about the Bear, but thyats his thing.

It's why I do and don't listen.

I listen when a team or player deserves a beat down and his claims are legit, which is about 40% of the time, the rst of the time I am at ESPN or now HARDCORE SPORTS RADIO! Great Interviews! Th f bomb being dropped freely makes it a little more raw and real.

I might even say North listens as I have heard a few things on the HARDCORE show that magically come from Mike the next day
