The Replacements in many respects provided the soundtrack of my youth. I love all of the following songs by them:

Bastards of Young
All Shook Down
Red, Red Wine
Alex Chilton
Raised in the City
Unsatisfied
Sixteen Blue
Swingin Party
Favorite Thing
We're Coming Out
I Will Dare
Attitude
Someone Take the Wheel
My Little Problem
Shiftless When Idle
I Don't Know

I like a fair amount of the Westerberg solo albums, especially the Grandpaboy stuff.

Any songs in particular from DTAS or ASD you consider to be filler?

We should figure out a spot for the CSFMB crew to meet up. Did any of you go last year? I can't picture how they lay it out. I guess there must be a map on their site.

You've got lots to listen to on Friday. The Flatliners, Yellowcard and Screaching Weasel (provided Ben Weasel isn't beating any women on stage) should be good and the you can get in the circle pit for Hatebread and GWAR. If GWAR eats Pete Wentz then everyone goes home happy.

As much as I want to go Sunday, I'm getting married that Saturday, and leave for Mexico Monday morning. I'm fairly certain that the words, "I'm going to Riot Fest to see The Replacements on Sunday" will result in her finding a way for the cartels to have my head on a stake by Monday afternoon.

This thing is either:

a). the biggest, most crowded thing I have ever been to
b). set up in a really unorganized way that makes it seem that way

But, there is a life size statue of John Stamos made out of butter, so either way it's win.

At least 6 injured at Riot Fest
Staff report
8:43 am, September 15, 2013

At least six people were taken to area hospitals late Saturday night with a variety of injuries from Riot Fest in Humboldt Park.

The Chicago Fire Department transported six people – four in good-to-fair condition, two in fair-to-serious condition – but it's not clear how many people were taken by private ambulances that were staffing the event.

Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said the people sustained various minor injuries.

The festival includes dozens of musical acts inside Humboldt Park on the West Side from Friday afternoon through Sunday night.

The fire department had requested a total of 10 ambulances to the park, near Division Street and Kedzie Avenue. Police said the move was precautionary after numerous injury reports were made inside the festival.

Had a great time yesterday. Mission of Burma and Bob Mould were both early highlights. These guys are pros at these festival shows, which can be tricky to pull of when you're used to paying clubs without becoming cheesy caricitures (a lesson some of the younger bands at RF could and should take to heart.) Against Me! were pretty good. Pixies started out a little rough but really came into their set strong. I had high expectations for the Replacements which were absolutely, uneqivocally blown away. They were superlative. I felt lucky to be there for it. They could use some picnic tables or something at this fest. It's a long time to be standing/walking. Had a lot of fun hanging with Bagels and the JORR mafia. Let this serve as inspiration to all the other mults out there: it's alright to get out with these guys once in a while. They're not all that bad. Come on binny's clerk-maybe take Frank out for a beer or something.
