But JOrr said baseball is more popular!

I like baseball better than the NFL as a whole and I still watch some Sox games so it will be a bit sad when they finally do end the season. I do realize that I am in the minority with that point of view though.

I am ready for baseball season to end about now. Then I'm ready for it to start again about Jan 1.

Jerks. I'm just hoping the Cardinals rotation doesn't completely fall apart before the postseason. Also, realized I will be in Europe for the first round, at minimum, of the playoffs, so I need them to make a deep run!

This is quite a shock coming from the guy who gave up before Spring games even started.

Baseball is about to get awesome, your loss.

Enjoy the the happenstance that leads to 9-7 and 7-9's across the board!

Don't you buy into the theory that all you can do is make the playoffs and then all the teams have roughly similar chances? Theo Epstein taught me that. So, enjoy your own happenstance.

They knew they were on thin ice with me after the mistake they made with Orton. They couldn't afford a second.

It's looking quite possible they will have to burn Wainwright in the 1-game playoff vs. the Red.

If they can get past that game, however... we know the Playoffs are a crapshoot. Dodger rotation is tough.. but anyone can be beat.

The average football fan is so goddamn dumb he can't even watch an entire game. He needs the NFL to spoon feed him with some shit called the "Red Zone".

Also, the ratings indicate football fans watch full games in massive numbers.

Don't hold it against football that fantasy football is far superior to fantasy baseball. You should be used to football surpassing baseball.

Don't worry. The NFL isn't going to change the time of the season so baseball can keep a stranglehold on making the games the equivalent of sitting in a park or cemetery.

Yeah, that's after 80% of teams have been eliminated. Of course the remaining teams are going to be close. But they are actually the best of the best. Not nearly the same as the NFL mishmosh.

Absolutely false.

Fantasy football is dumbed down fantasy baseball.

There is plenty of dogfood games and downtime in football too. I'm not on the side of the fence that Orr is on, but there are plenty of boring moments during an NFL game.

You mean like the 2 hours and 49 minutes of non action in a 3 hour game?

There are multiple ways to express this, but last year, the worst team to make the playoffs was 10-6, or a .625 winning percentage. There is currently no team in MLB with a.625 winning percentage.

You are correct there is a big blob around the average, but that is true of all leagues including MLB, and most of those teams don't make the playoffs.

I'm just pointing out one of the major reasons baseball is good is because it allows you to spend a nice day outside. Given how important you and others think Wrigley Field is I think it's a fair thing to say.

One of the primary benefits of baseball is that it is an excuse to spend a nice day in nice weather outside just like a park or as I learned today, a cemetery.

No. It's highly unlikely that one even makes one this year.

Do you think they should move to Schaumburg?
