For all the football fans at CSFMB: Keats and Yeats don't rhyme.

Bill on Capitol Hill is quoting Georg Hegel in a discussion of Paul Konerko, which is lofty, because to most Sox fans, "Dialectic" is some Polish guy's last name.

Oh and here's Steve from Bolingbrook to say that Konerko has always conducted himself with class. I love it when "class" is not only used as a noun but is uttered in the most nasal of Sout' Side honks. Also, God bless Konerko for heroically raging back from having been traded twice and going to to be a very good player. Okay cool.

So like is there a reason why it's Paul Konerko Blowjob Day today? Did he die?

so Konerko's great.

But not as great as Billy Williams, Ernie Banks or Andre Dawson.

And....?

Do you usually go in this hard with the Sox/Cubs stuff?

A few years ago on Konerko....

It pains him to make outs. You can see the agony in his face- Dan Bernstein, champion of not citing body language

When Dan From North Center leads off a Paul Konerko hagiography with "Hegel once said...", you can't not.

beni listens so you don’t have to…it’s for real now

ZZ focuses on the middle linebacker spot

- DJ Williams practiced. Does that mean he will start. Tress states he may not be conditioned to play 60 – 70 snaps. Leaving all options wide open Expect both to play. Bostic will play some special teams too. He would be comfortable if Bostic were to start.
- ZZ with inside information. The Bears players and coaches loved what DJ could do on the field during pre season workouts and whatnot. Thusly, coaches are quite comfortable with his ability to perform.
- Lordy Tress enjoys verboseness. ZZ believes Tress is simply a better public speaker as he is a lawer.
- Frey is your nickel guy. Bears committed to him. ZZ “He’s done nothing to disappoint.” Interesting in that Tress had a live chat with fans and made this announcement. Thank spmack for the advance info on this fact. http://score670.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=81519
- Peppers talk. Peppers foot injury was actually an ankle injury. We was lied too. It was NOT, repeat NOT Plantar Facsitis.
- Briggs is fine, Tillman and Jennings all fine. Peppers hammy should be fine.
- Terry asks about this swim thing. Tress states that he has never been a part of a staff that has done that. beni must confess he has no idea what this swim thing is, but you should know that Tress won’t do it…
- Terry can’t get a feel for this 2013-2014 Bears team. What should give Terry a feel for this team? ZZ: he’s got nothing and starts to ramble about Bengals defense. ZZ isn’t sure if the O is gonna mesh. Some people say it can take 3 years for an offense to mesh
- Berns asks if the entire playbook in. ZZ: Tress wanted more practice time, specifically qb’s, but collective bargaining wouldn’t allow it. Some story about lefty punters and how Tress is really a minutae guy. Whatever.
- Practice squad will rotate weekly so the scout team better fits the upcoming opponent.
- Berns asks about Scott being released. ZZ: Long will be left at guard. Scott was left on Tuesday. The knee was a no go. He wouldn’t benefit the team against the Bengals. Scott may be back when the knee heals.
- ZZ: backup quarterback has created a lot of talk. Bears more concerned with left tackle. No backup.

Useless tidbit: Peppers confirmed his contract was restructured.

Bernstein is leaving now because he's Jewish.

I disagree that Urlacher was bad. He was not great.

But, he was effective enough.

Pro football focus graded him as bad for whatever that's worth to you.

Young Connor has decided he'll just be Terry's yes man to kill the remaining hour and a half.

He was bad toward the end of the year but effective through the first 2/3rds of the season, IMO.

Is that McKnight who just said "resuscitation machine"? Did he mean a defibrillator or ventilator?

I think it's funny that they took Hub's rant against picking Long off the Hub Arkush intro song for B&B.

Good catch. Gotta protect their expert. Like I said, B&B used to cue up Hub's stupid comments when he did the Jauron show and beat the living shit out of Hubby boy back in the day. They kicked him. And kicked him. Then when he was dead, they would still kick him.

I'm with gd on this, though. His immediate objection most certainly was that he was overdrafted. That could still absolutely be true, even if the guy is a 6-year starter. He should have stuck to his guns for a while.

But he didn't. I think he got tired of people bashing him so he said "I'm wrong, motherfuckers. Leave me alone!!! "

You're right. He could have stuck to the "He was still over drafted" angle. But I also recall him saying that he didn't think he would be much of a player because of his lack of games played in college. Or something like that.

Alright. I'm done with this. Watch, Long does end up sucking. Though I don't think so. He's gonna be a good one. A good tackle next year.

I also immediately thought it was an awful pick.

I also think, now, he might be real, real good.

But, if I was an analyst, I might just as well stick to my original thought of being overdrafted and take the chance it might work out for me rather than just completely block any chance at being right at anything before the guy ever plays a game.

I think it's funny that the intro song basically consists of CBS Mighty Voice saying "Hub Arkush" over and over and over.
