No I disagree. People have a certain amount of time to waste and prefer to waste it being entertained or being productive. Recently, if I see a lot of the trolls have posted then I set the computer down and go do something else. I have time to read dumb entertaining shit but not dumb shit. It becomes a mundane almost tiring experience.

What suprises me is that many people can't seem to ignore it.

If I could be a Which-What-Who,

Seriousness isn't the issue. Bombing the board with incoherence and making it more difficult to find intelligible threads is. If Mao were here to entertain, he would follow Mr. Pickles's example and start his own "Velvet Lounge" thread. His ubiquity indicates he has other interests.

By the way, I'm not saying Mao would cause me to leave the board. I am saying, however, that he is trying to alienate regulars from the board and that his strategy has been at least partially successful.

The only thing I'd say about Mao is his posts seem to come in waves, which makes it difficult to avoid completely- sometimes in this section there'll be 10 threads in a row with last post of Mao...

I've fell into the trap a few times by insulting him in response. What some of us forget is that he floods the board with his idiotic posts and then disappears. So when we respond, he's been long gone.

I just talked to my wife and she said I could bring you home if you have all your shots! I once wrote abot the new version of phpbb which has a friends and foes filter. You can completely ingore posts from people like Mao. Likewise, you can create a "friends" filter in which your view of the board is only the posters you like.

Seems like the time is now for our free upgrade. bigfan?
