I was just thinking about him saying that today. Valbuena has far better offensive stats this season than keppinger and couple in Ransom's stats and you have good 3rd base production.

He proceeded to take his 72 hour grace period away from the team even though it was the same team he was already with. What an arrogant prick.

No chance anyone in the organization has any respect for bullshit like that. Its one thing when you actually get sent down from the big league team and need to collect your thoughts and physically move to the affiliate but its another when you are already fucking there.

He is total garbage. Let's hope he blows that 2M and ends up homeless.

Fuck him.

yes,at 2nd! I have been a Valbeuna guy since last season. I have said that he looks like a better hitter than his average but when this season started he got in a rut of uppercutting and hitting a lot of flyouts. I'm happy he has been improving. As far as Keppinger, before the season is over,he will be ok.

Barney is one of the slickest infielders I have ever watched but I'd settle for a little less defender and a better hitter. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs move Ransom/Valbuena to 2nd and have both in the lineup. Not many teams can carry a .154 hitter.

That is over about 2 1/2 weeks of time. Barney is not going anywhere and his average will improve to its norm.

For a gold glove 8 hole hitter he is fine.

Even though he had an option the Cubs outrighted him and pulled him off the 40 man roster. I believe this was a response to him taking the 72 hour grace period that was completely unnecessary. Shockingly no one has claimed on waivers and he is just a minor league player.

Happened today. Barney can shove that gold glove up his ass. He is the reincarnation of M ick Kelleheher

Low risk.

Assumption made finger/forearm usage deployed to texts/tweets prior to signing will equate to better bat speed at plate.

It is unfortunate the geniuses behind WCUB didn't vet the Ian Stewart brain as they have been given credit for vetting others. This dude is an incredible dumbass.

Perhaps the Cubs can negotiate a buyout of the remainder of his contract for 2013. if he wants to be released so badly, he might agree to it. The Cubs save some money and Stewart can go look for a team that might be in a more urgent need of a 3rd baseman. I think he'll find little interest in his services though.

This pissing match just keeps on going. There is going to come a point that the pleasure of letting him rot in the minors is not worth his shitty attitude rubbing off on the players down there. I would pay another team his remaining contract and trade him for some non-prospect minor league player. Then you get rid of him but he isn't granted the contractual freedom he wants.

Let him ROTT in Iowa. The guy is shitty and it is wasted money but if he won't agree to the buyout to get his release to try and catch on somewhere else he can enjoy playing out the rest of this wasted season in Des Moines and cashing his checks. Maybe you would be higher up on the call up list if you weren't hitting .164 against minor leaguers you dope.

and of course the piece of shit gets to play against the I-Cubs tonight and is 2-2 with a bomb and 2 rbi. It took him about 60 games to accumulate those stats when he was on the I-Cubs.

Colvin was outrighted to the minors today by the Rockies after passing through waivers. He has been removed from their 40-man roster and is expected to non-tendered this winter.

He is going to be one of those classic every other year guys except his good year is extremely average. At least he seems like a good dude unlike that shithead Stewart. DJ is still on the team though I believe.
