I agree that revealing Mao's other identities would likely solve the problem without becoming entangled in a free speech issue some are apparently concerned about.

I think simply ingnoring him or any other posters that you don't really care for would have put an end to some of this crap long ago. Mao seems to enjoy getting people all worked up. Starting a thread about him will get him going again, no doubt.

While I find his post annoying and pointless, the thought of banning someone for being disruptive on a message board is a little odd to me. He needs to be banned. Even other trollish posters like Pickles, Andy Rooney, and Potter post things that are coherent if not amusing. I haven't ever thought about wanting those guys banned but Mao is a different story and needs to be both outed and banned. No slippery slope applies here. Hell, the guy has been posting this crap for a couple of months now and finally we get a thread like this. The other trolls have added to some discussion and humor here. He's stayed the same if not gotten worse and has had more than enough time to form his schtick. He hasn't and needs to go. Plus I want to know who the hell it is that's been doing it.

I usually like your post for the most part, but I fail to see the point of this one. So everyone who thinks it's a bad idea to start banning people based on opinion, albeit idioodic, is Mao. If Mao leaves, someone else will pop up saying stupid crap to get a rise out of people. Should they all be banned? What then becomes the rule on dumb posts? Who, besides bigfan, makes the determination?

I just think you open a can of worms when you ban someone for being a jerk rather than breaking some established rule.

You are reading too much into my lists. The possible list is just possible based on who posted in this thread. I don't think some people on that list are likely to be Mao.

Of course it could be somebody who stated they wanted him banned. The people I put on the Not list...just a feeling or don't make sense at all. In all honesty, Midget, with your knowledge you could easily be him but I don't believe you'd want to drive some of the other posters, like Reason, away.

Whoever is Mao is a bit of a nut, has a ton of time, is fairly to above average "intelligence" and could careless about this board, and at times has probably been considered a dick.

Then wash off your dick. It helps if you shower right after sex but it should be okay if you do it now.
