I had a friend who was educated in British schools, where apparently most students use the word "rubber" to mean what we call an eraser. He told me he once asked a female colleague somewhere over here if she could hand him a rubber while they were both working on a project. It didn't go over well.

 Then he said he's going to go outside to smoke a burrito.

LOL!!! It always is what it is. That's my point. It's a contrived cliché for stating the obvious...

Just start saying "it's what it's." That will throw people.

I have found myself saying " Ok, fair enough" when wrapping up conversations with people. Many times
when I don't think the answer or outcome was actually "fair enough". :( I need to work on that.

I use it when it's not obvious to the other party in a conversation, in a "that's the way it is/don't even analyze it" kind of way.

there is actually a term now called "almost alcoholic", to describe a person who could have a drinking problem but can't be clinically called an alcoholic outright.

Well, it's a terrible saying and anyone saying it, especially at a place of business, should be stabbed.

Ive come to accept it but its a weird thing to replace "day" with "one"

You're not saving any syllables or letters

There are so many other ways for a saying to depart from someone..

Like:
Great seeing you
Have a great weekend
Have a great week
Thanks for stopping by
Thanks for having me

Even "have a good day" is bad

But i'm not surprised Colonel Angus defended the saying..

"Thanks for having me" is good, but "have a good one" or "have a good day" are bad???

This has reached lol vs. haha level of stupidity.

Who said any one of them were good? I just said other

In a professional setting, I think it's bad taste to say "have a good one"

I'm not surprised you don't understand..
