I think the season will be EXACTLY like the last, where, for the first 5 or so weeks, while defenses are still getting acclimated to game speed, Grossman will look good,

I believe traditionally the defenses have an upper hand early on while the offenses take time to gell.

I think Grossman will be fine. He has a multitude of offensive weapons now with Hester, Olsen, Berrian, Bradley, and Mohammad. Most importantly, though, I think Benson's punishing running style will tire out defensive lines allowing Grossman time to make the correct passes.

I agree that Benson might wear down defenses with the amount we may run the ball, but he will not wear down defensive lines with his running style. There is no way he is going to be punishing lineman. Maybe linebackers and of course DB's but I don't think there is an RB in the league that wears down d lineman themselves.

Not just Benson alone but if Benson and the line run at a passing rushing DE all day constantly taking out his legs, it will have an effect on his Pass Rush. For 1) he will be tired and for 2) he can't run immediately up field.

OK that is a better statement and I agree with it. Hopefully these teams don't have the depth that the Bears have on the d line. There are some guys in the league that you just can't wear out either though.

Last year wasn't an "acclimation" issue for defenses, it was a game-tape issue. You'll know right away- first four weeks- what Grossman 2.0 will look like.

I wouldn't go out on too many limbs after one quarter of preseason football, espcially when he was 8-for-10 and was doing the things he was criticized for not doing (checking down, stepping into the pocket), with John St. Turnstyle playing left tackle all the while.

Grossman will have the Leashito (The Short Leash) this year
