mother******! I loved the Bearcats. The show likes them and now the line moves towards the Illini. I bought them down from 7.5 to 6.5 and now I know I should pretty much tear up that ticket.

I loved the Colts as well.

That's not true. It opened at 10 across the board. The number is as low as it's been. Mac got a good number here, if you like Cincy.

He took a horrible number but I don't think it really matters to him anyway.

It did open at 10. It was only at 7 for a very short amount of time, at one book (DSI). When I post numbers, I post numbers that are widely available.

I never disputed what the number opened at. It was at 7 more than once at some books.
If you don't think a number at BETDSI is widely available.......

Buster, you seem to be a man of mystery that has quite the intimate knowledge of what goes on in the Mac and Meat Show....

Interesting, the OFFICIAL Mac/Meat ST finally has itself a man on the inside.

Widely available means it is available at more than one book.

If one book has a number at 7, and every other book has 7.5, then 7.5 is the widely available number.

Bookmaker had it at 7 for a few hours, and Justbet is unavailable to US customers.

bottom line the number at 8 is not as low as it's been

you can still get 7.5 -105 as of a few minutes ago at 5D

And that's a shame, because it is the best book. After the Colts/Bears SuperBowl, I was forced to close my acct.

It looks like the Raiders plus the points is the play tomorrow.

If Flynn was starting, I would take the Raiders on the money line as a small play

If that is the goal, then why are they investing in something that won't pay out until after the NFL Championship Weekend? I guess you could try to lock in by betting 2k on the NFC team once you get to that point, but you're still going to be short money.

What they should do is take the money out of Bovada and deposit it in a decent book. There are plenty of deposit bonuses out there with the start of the NFL season. They could probably get a 30% deposit bonus.
They aren't smart enough to do that so they will continue to play at a place where they get the worst of the lines.

nah, it's just a gimmick for the show..... playing the contrarian stuff between degenerate gambler big chief mackeyfish and the lean mean non-gambling machine DURR SPEAGOL. i noticed speagol tweeting about the show pot earlier on re: illinois.... methinks this will be brought up on some point monday short of 100% total bears-related-armageddon.

today i swear i also heard mac call durr speagol "the candyman" --- for a good 3 seconds in time and space i was 100% bonafide in being proud of being a CSFMB denizen!

The McNeil and Spiegel Show’s #showpot moves for week one of the NFL season are all set. A reminder that the picks don’t have to be NFL games, just that the actual wagering with the showpot and football season begins this week.

1st pick: Cincinnati -8 at Illinois ran away with the shows voting. The Bearcats have to go on the road Saturday in Champaign, a place where the Illini have struggled. The show put $200 on the Bearcats despite them giving 8 on the road.

2nd pick: Indianapolis -10 vs Oakland. You the listener voted and were the tie-breaker between this and the Bengals getting 3 points in their week one battle here in Chicago. 28% of listeners voted for the Colts being their pick for the week while just 7% of listeners liked the Bengals.

Showpot Status:
After placing these wagers the showpot is down to just $488 after placing these wagers but plenty of opportunities to grow that remain undecided. The show also has investments in the Colts to win the Super Bowl ($100 risk to win $4000), Jason Garrett to be the first coach fired ($100 to win $750) and Charles Tillman to finish the year with more than 4.5 forced fumbles ($100 to win $86.96).

The goal is to reach $3000 with the Showpot and have the five members of it spend NFL Championship Weekend in Las Vegas.

Gary Kubiak was fired this morning, and Peanut finished the season with 3 forced fumbles.
