I was pleased with the o-line yesterday. Cincinnati had the highest adjusted sack rate from their d-line in the league last year. That is a REAL good pass rushing team. Last year or the year before, Cutler would have been sacked 10 times and would be taking swings at Jamarcus Webb.

Yeah, we'll have to see how the Bengals end up, but that may have been a REAL good team the Bears just beat

Tresty came on AM 780 immediately after the game and said "all we were trying to do in the first half was keep Jay clean." Wise move given the unknowns on the O-Line and the killer D-Line they were up against. This was a great win for a entirely new offense, loads of new players going up against a great defense.

Stay calm, don't make mistakes, take what the other team will give you. Jesus, can you imagine how many more wins they would have had if Jay played this well over the past four years?

Yesterday confirmed what many Bears fans believed was a 9-7 or 10-6 wild card team and maybe a playoff win. Although there are some differences in defensive strengths the Bengals and Bears looked like carbon copies of each other.

If I were the Vikings, my game plan would consist of Adrian Peterson carrying between the tackles 65% of the time. The other 35% would consist on getting Carlson and Rudolph isolated on LB.

My gameplan would be to go out and find a frigging QB!

Ponder did look better towards the end of last season though.

Bears will destroy the Vikings. It will be payback for last year. Forte may go for 200 yards.

Christian Ponder went 12th in that draft
Blaine Gabbert went 10th

Dalton and Kaepernick went 35th and 36th respectively

Carimi 29th

Bears grades from game 1

The three highest graded players were Jay Cutler (+6.5), Carlos Dunlap (+4.0) and Stephen Paea (+3.6).

- The three lowest graded players were Martellus Bennett (-5.3), Domata Peko (-2.2) and Jermon Bushrod (-2.1).

- Some ultra excellent play from Cutler saw him complete 9-of-12 on passes aimed over 10 yards, though under pressure he was only 2-of-8.

- A big day for A.J. Green who picked up a huge 4.76 yards per route run. At the moment that’s more than any other receiver with nine games up on the week.

- A well done to right tackle Jordan Mills (+3.4) who despite being faced with a tough task only gave up one quarterback hurry and impressed in the run game. While Kyle Long (-1.7) wasn’t as impressive it’s worth noting that Geno Atkins lined up at defensive left tackle on 25 plays.

Watching that Giant-Cowboy game, more specifically the play of Eli and Romo... actually makes me feel a lot more comfortable about Cutler..

Nas, where are you with this team? What do you like, not like? Concerns? Are you a Lovie guy or are you okay with Trestman?

It's rude and inconsiderate to leave Spaulding hanging on her question. So I'll answer it from my perspective.

I think it's a 10-6 team. That might be enough to win the division if they get the tie breaker over the Packers. Lovie was a decent coach. But I think in today's NFL, the head coach needs to know offense or have an OC that knows offense. Lovie didn't and couldn't find one. Trestman is a good offensive mind. Too early to say genius, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Concerns: Age of the stars on defense which means more likely for injuries.
