I can't wait to have my phone read my fingerprints. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that feature.

What will go wrong with it? Fingerprint sensors are pretty standard. I've had one on my laptop for years and haven't had any problems with it. I bet you can also turn it off and just use a passcode if you're worried about people chopping off your fingers to play your games.

My fellow conspiracy theorist doesn't have a problem with a tech company having his fingerprint(s)?

There is an 80% chance someone tries to scan the tip of their jimmy on the sensor, and there is a 100% chance that man will be me.

I had to give my fingerprint to get in to Disney last week. I'm numb to it, unfortunately. You're right though, it probably should bother me but I've consciously decided to allow Google/Apple to have a ton of my info.

Apple has a lot of catching up to do it seems. I see all these commercials with way cooler shit than Apple.

I still love my 4S and iPad though.

If you are talking about the Microsoft commercials, the Surface is having no success despite their seemingly "better" features. MSFT just wrote off nearly $1 billion worth of inventory because they aren't selling... although there is a new one coming soon.

Apple really doesn't have a "lot of catching up" to do. They just aren't as far ahead as they have been, so it seems that way.

If people are happy with their iPhones and iPads, then what catching up does Apple have to really do?

Right. There aren't features out there that make me want to leave Apple. That's when there will be trouble.

I was referring to product features and innovation. I picked up a iPhone 4S last week because I like it being synced with my iPad and iMessaging with friends. The samsung phones and Windows tablet look like they have much better features but I realized I'm sucked into the Apple universe and content with my choice.

Right. The latest phones from every company have "much better features" than the 4S, probably, though. It's old.

Though I'm just saying the Windows tablet specifically is bad, by all accounts. Not many people buy it or like it.

People used to be happy with their blackberry phones too.

Apple built up such a huge market share because they were significantly better than the rest. They no longer are at the forefront of innovation. Well, they are going to create a gold iPhone!

what advancements did they really have when the iphone hit? an expensive screen (that had been out in south korea for years), and a yuppie ad campaign. thats it.

notice how samsung and microsoft followed suit and is effectively biting into apples pie...

The iPhone wins the award for most stolen cell phone.

iOS 7 will go a long way in combating that

The Surface RT's inventory had to be written off, not the Surface Pro.

5S is the first smartphone with a 64 bit processor. Innovative.

It took them some time. They were behind on LTE, NFC, dual/quad-core, and still are behind on screen sizes. I still don't see much difference between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, except for the obligatory, and arguably insignificant processor updates, and other cosmetic changes.

They did not specifically say it won't be stored on NSA servers.

So what is your prediction for Samsung?

Were you serious saying you think they're going out of business?
