They did not specifically say it won't be stored on NSA servers.

So what is your prediction for Samsung?

Were you serious saying you think they're going out of business?

I really don't follow very closely, but I do believe Android will be going away. Not Samsung.

Mine was stolen Saturday night. That "Find My Iphone" app was plenty useless.

Oh ok.

Yeah, every analyst has a different opinion of the Big Tech companies every day. If you did know you'd be rich

Apple Unveils Panicked Man With No Ideas

The ineffectual, idea-free man, whom Apple unveiled on stage today.

CUPERTINO, CA—At a highly anticipated press event at its Silicon Valley headquarters Tuesday afternoon, tech giant Apple officially unveiled to the public a panicked and completely idea-free man.

The white, ultrathin man, who exhibited such features as artificial excitement, a fully quavering voice, and what appeared to be a near total lack of inspiration, was put on full display for thousands of shareholders, industry insiders, reporters, and fans today in what Apple hopes will be a game-changer for the multinational corporation.

“This is the future of Apple,” announced the lightweight, 75-inch desperate man while being presented on stage. “We are indeed staking our company’s reputation on what you see here on this stage. And as always with Apple, you are getting a glimpse of the entire tech industry’s future today.”

“Our customers expect the best products from Apple, and that is what we will continue to deliver,” continued the feckless man, offering a tedious, innovation-free display and a high rate of perspiration.

Experts told reporters the success or failure of the hapless, perplexed man will have an enormous impact on Apple’s profits and revenues for the foreseeable future. The completely ineffectual male human, reportedly priced at roughly $4.17 million per year, is also expected to both shape and inform all Apple products and their design for years to come.

However, early reports suggest that a majority of the event’s attendees were unimpressed by the panicked man, with critics complaining that the creatively bankrupt individual is “largely useless” and a stark departure from the company’s visionary and industry-leading ethos.

“In terms of reliability, functionality, performance, and overall quality, I’m very underwhelmed by what Apple put out today,” said TechCrunch blogger Daniel Keison, noting that the utterly uninspiring man was noticeably lower-end, lagged considerably, and came equipped with little to no vision. “Apple had set the bar really high in the past, and I can’t say they’re living up to that.”

“Maybe our expectations for them have just become unrealistic at this point,” Keison said of Apple, which also unveiled a line of other lower-quality panicked men during the event. “But frankly, what the company showed us today is not really very different from what other tech companies have shown us.”

Industry sources reported that while many loyal Apple customers were largely unenthusiastic about the panicked man, they remained quite happy with the previous model, discontinued in 2011.

Find my iphone has saved me twice. Luckily I has just lost it, and not had it stolen.

Not at all about staying power, it's about google. Android has a lot of issues, ranging from fragmentation and serious IP issues. There is no sense for google to maintain two OS, so it always seemed like they would merge Android with Chrome. But with the Ip issues, I don't think they can merge. I think a chrome will win. And then earlier this year Google fired the head of Android and replaced him with the Chrome OS exec. Chrome is web based, doesn't have the ip problems and just fits better with what google is doing. Makes more sense for them to lead with chrome. Android isn't going to be dead anytime soon, but I just think Google will shift their focus to Chrome. Chromecast is a good example of this.

Except: both Android and Chrome OS are Linuxes. I'm not sure what great distinction there is between the two, outside of some device drivers and the Dalvik/Java runtime.

Much like how MS ruled Apple in the PC wars the IPhones will dominate for the foreseeable future. The real or imagined ease of use, the marketing will keep them there. Until another company far surpasses an OS that is also supported by a gigantic push in app/software publishing by third parties they will go no where.

My wife has a macbook and an ipad but we both have Galaxy phones.

Never got the whole iphone thing. Then again, I don't like using the Macbook either. The ipad is ok but I'm sure I could get by with a different tablet. Guess I'm not a big Apple fan.

I really don't understand Apple's stubbornness when it comes to screen size. They've been behind on this forever, and don't seem to care. Three years ago, I said I'd be an Apple/iPhone guy forever...now I'm thinking I could switch in the next year due to Apple's complete lack of innovation/competitiveness. They just seem to be milking the upgrade cycle as much as they can, and it's going to haunt them in my opinion.

Screen size has never been a big seller for me. Not sure which ones they are but some of the droid phones are bigger than I want to carry. Maybe I will shop next contract? The 5 I have now is fine for now.

Apple doubled its in house creative department just to get cooler commercial ideas!

From 300 to 600! $60 mill on in house creative people to solve the issue of bad ads?

I would think REPLACING some of the Bad Idea people would be the way to go? Not just doubling the people.

Whats another $30 mill when you have $100 Bill cash laying around.

they dont overlook anything. they feel their screen size is the best "one size fits all". notice how the ip5 didnt get much bigger, just longer? they think ergonomics matters, and it does.

my friend showed me their s4 the other day. no way im keeping that in my pocket... its basically a tablet.

My iPhone has a lot of great features...when it's jailbroken. I don't really want a bigger screen, the phone +case is nearing the upper limits of something I feel is a good size for a cellphone.

Glad there's supposedly a 6.1.3 jailbreak out as I'm stuck on my new 5 without it.

yeah thats definitely an apple thing. while i normally root my android phones, most of them i dont really need to. overclocking is about the main reason i do it, and i like to install custom roms if theres ones that will give me newer android versions that the carriers didn't support. my old htc sensation is on 4.3 now, which is pretty sweet considering its been 'dead' to carriers for years now.

There is a good reason that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the first phone to threaten Apples IPhone. Its a better phone.
All 3 of my kids have IPhones & want to switch to the Galaxy.

Don't particularly care for ios7 aeshetically, but a lot of the enhanced apps/features will be nice. Better multitasking, Air Drops, etc.

I've heard 12:00pm CST (10am PST) to allow the Apple help desk folks time to get into work. Seriously.
