Hank's line - "You're the smartest guy I've ever met. But you're too stupid to realize that he made his decision 10 minutes ago."

Tremendous.

That came off to me as a total Dean Norris ad lib Showoff/Last Hurrah Special Easter Egg - didn't like it one bit. Made him seem like he was fucking Clint Eastwood, and he just wasn't like that.

Also, I can't stand how they tried in this ep to pretty much take away all of anyone's ability to root for Walt. What's up with the baby-napping shit? C'mon, man! I don't like motherfuckers making choices for me like that - didn't appreciate it one bit.

Jesse's saga was well-done, though. Todd and Ramsay Bolton would be buds.

I give that ep a 2.5 out of 5 just because it could have been done better. A kitchen knifefight? How fuckin' cheezy do you wanna get? C'mon.

Fuck, that was weak.

You are nuts.

First of all, of course Hank was Clint Eastwood-ish. That's ALL he was. That was a perfet way for him to go out

As far as Walt, I dont think anything he did in this episode should turn you. I mean if you were still with him, you still should be. He gave the baby back and he tried to absolve Skylar with that phone call.

How is a kitchen knife fight cheesy? Its realisitic.

Great episode. Best of the series and one of the best episodes in the history of television.

I think you missed what they were trying to convey. Him kidnapping the baby absolves Skyler and Walt Jr. from pretty much everything Walt did. A two bit lawyer could easily spin that she was coerced by a crazy and violent Walt and was forced to go along with everything in fear that she or her son would end up like Hank. Walt's very smart, he knew there was cops on that line, that's why he went at her so hard on that phone call.

He did it to protect his family.

"We are a family" -Walt

Best show ever made doesn't even begin to do it justice anymore. I think it's moved up to number 4 on best things in life:
1)Blowjob
2) Sex
3)Steak Dinner
4)Breaking Bad?

I thought it was a great episode. How many are left, just two? I plan on watching it again this week
and really digesting each scene.

So the Nazi uncle was brought in to be the last minute villian so Walt can go out as a quasi hero?

I can dig it.

Maybe the last thing he does is free Jesse

First, there's no way that Dean Norris ad-libbed that line. I haven't heard the Insider podcast yet but I'll almost guarantee that Gilligan will be geeking out about how they came up with that line. Plus, it's a perfect encapsulation of how Hank sees Walt and always has. To him, and he's right, Walt has been this incredibly smart guy but also socially inept with no ability to read people. He's the anti-Hank and here Hank has to witness it one last time before he dies. It was great.

Also, Todd putting Jesse in the cage is a great callback to Todd just staring at the spider in the jar that he took off the kid. I never quite understood Todd's fascination with that but now it makes total sense.

If you're Todd's Uncle and Gang isnt it time to retire with like 12 million a piece?

Why still cook? I mean greed, yeah, but im not sure these Nazis are thinking everything through

Plus they just killed two cops

They should go to Czechoslovakia

Exactly what I said. Guess it's out of greed and the pressure from Lydia's buyers to produce meth.

I think the nazis start fighting over the money and shoot out each other.

Jessie escapes

All the nazis are dead except Todd. Who would have thouight that Landry could become this huge evil criminal mastermind?

Still think Walt escapes too. Perhaps leave an opening for a movie, a la 24

As far as Walt knows, Jesse is dead.

Something has to happen next week to lead Walt to go after Jack and company.

I'm guessing Walt somehow sees his patented product back on the street and that lets him know that the nazis didn't live up to their end of the bargain. Walt can't let that slide.

Next week's episode is called, "Granite State" which is New Hampshire. Don't remember episode 1 from last season, but I assume Walt's drivers license was from New Hampshire, right?

Not sure how he would find out about the blue being back on the streets if he's all the way up in New Hampshire, but maybe he just gets the ID and never makes it to the actual state? Either way, he's coming back home, getting a big scarface gun and getting ready to go off some nazis and Jesse.

I don't see any scenario where he lets Jesse go, not now that he blames Jesse for getting Hank killed and ruining Walt's life with his family. Also, Jesse is a rat and rat's gotta go.

Driver's license and license plates are both NH, I believe. State motto is "Live Free or Die," which was the title of the first episode in which we saw a flashback to the new Walt.

Maybe, as in the wack version a few pages back, Lydia wants to tie up some loose ends, so she orders his family taken hostage to get him to give himself up and/or come back and cook.

. . . or maybe Saul just tells him about Jesse's plight.

Saul has no connection to Todd and Jack right?

Didn't Saul help arrange the cooking under the exterminator tents? I would think Saul knows the Nazi crew.

I think you're right.

That said, do you think Jack and Todd would let on that Jesse was still alive?

Yeah, he's coming back to get the Nazi crew. He'll run into Jesse there and that showdown will be the end of the series.

Or, we can revisit Jesse's words about whatever you expect to happen, the opposite will happen. I'm done predicting. Gilligan is too damn smart.

I really thought Junior was getting killed last night during the scrum between Walt and Skylar.

I believe it was "the exact reverse opposite of that is going to happen". There has been some great dialogue this season.

I do think you are right though. I think that was a signal of what might be to come.

Then he would've killed Skylar.
