Um, Matt, your bits are far from funny and how does staying in the same dead end job for 10+ years not make you a loser yourself?

Being a WSCR "Producer" in your 40's is like being a bouncer at a strip club in your 40's......without the chance of banging a fellow employee - stop the Larry jokes.

It might seem like a cool gig to some (Maddux City, Quad Boy & Schmutzie from Niles) but working for peanuts and being thought of as a glorified intern by the "talent" at your job would make me avoid mirrors.

I'm guessing more graduates from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting actually work at a strip club than in radio.

Much like the other thread on minimum wage I have no idea how a person could be a radio producer and a wife, home, kids? Unless, his wife is making huge coin that is a loser job. If you don't "make it" by 30 you need to see the writing on the wall.

Didn't Jesse Rogers marry a lawer? Also, I figured by the end he had been at the station long enough that someone was making sure he had a decent salary.

My guess is that Abbatacola knocks down around 50k a year us whatever taste B&B give him of any ratings bonuses they may get.

Goff and Mac once had an exchange. Mac said that he had a good ratings period and that his producers were gonna get a piece of his bonus. He then asked Goff if B&B do the same for him. Goff, in a disappointed and disgusted voice, said "Hell no, man". Safe to assume that B&B don't cut a piece of their bonus checks to drinky either.

There's a funny bit on OKC's channel about Terry promising "a little something" for Matt and Jason after the ratings came out, and it was leftover Halloween candy.

Of course they don't. They view producers as nothing more than interns, which makes Matty's career sad and pathetic. It is also why Goff got the fuck out when he had a chance. Matt may think he is "part of the show", but I guarantee Danny doesn't think that way about him. Not when it come to $$$ at least.

You know what? It's very kind of Mac to do it. I don't think it should be expected and don't look down on B&B for keeping their full bonus. That's in their contracts. That's theirs. Producers know their pay structure. Straight salary. There are plenty examples of subordinates in all works of life where those above don't give them a part of their bonus. Nor should they.

Mac is generous with his staff. Probably helps with moral. But Bernstein doesn't need his staff to like him to do good shows. That's why drinky behaves like a brat before him. Bernstein just rolls his eyes. He looks down on him.

That's the dumbest statement ever made.

Bernsie's obviously never had good fried chicken which probably isn't his fault since there's really isn't any excellent fried chicken in Chicago.

When you're right, you're right good sir.

Yes and kind of.

He turned down Rongeys gig because the pay was too low.

and now he is probably doing it for less covering the Blackhawks

Jesse is stupid but he was good at being a producer. I also think he enjoyed being a producer. I get the feeling being a producer wasn't good enough for his wife and so he's chased low end work the rest of his career.

You're a profit when it comes to Jesse Rogers.

I ate at Rip's last Friday. Still incredible. Could you really picture Bernstein and his family unit in that element?

Jesse wanted to be on the air. He never did want to end up like Abbatacola.

He turned down the Sox gig because uncle Jerry didn't want to pay enough. And the Hawks gig is and was far less restrictive. I met his wife a number of times. She was a partner at a firm more than ten years ago. She did came across as very grounded.

The hell are you talking about? They suck because the D is the same as last year, difference is the 2012 offense could keep up.

C'mon Schmitty, that's just complaining for the sake of complaining. I actually find Hoge to be one of the better young guys the Score has in the pipeline. And I hate everybody! :)
