Both mostly suck and are products of that whole "1970s southern California excess" thing that really isn't half as interesting as people want it to be, but both bands will hit you with harmonies that are just whoa. The only great Mac songs are Stevie Nicks's, e.g. "Dreams," "Gypsy," "Rhiannon," and "Sara." "You Make Loving Fun" sucks, and "Don't Stop" is an ear crime.

I love the Eagles. Anyone who thinks Nicks is the only good songwriter out of Mac should check out Lindsey's "Big Love" Incredible song, especially live when it's just him accompanying himself on guitar.

I like the Eagles. Fleetwood Mac is okay. Much more apt to listen to the Eagles on the radio than Fleetwood Mac.
