City dwellers having dogs is the new hip thing now. Everyone has them and there's those little boutique pet stores on every block now. I feel sorry for these dogs cooped up in these small condos their owners probably live in. A dog needs some space to get out and run.

My dog is awesome.

Three summers during college working at the USPS as a letter carrier made me a breedist. Running for my life out of someone's yard or back to the vehicle because some damn pit bull is on my tail has caused me to not care for pit bulls at all. Ironical because I grew up with English Bull Terriers and my mother used to raise/breed them back in Ireland.

I'm sure if I had kids I'd be down with dogs, but at this point in my life they are too messy, too slobbery, too shitty and too expensive.

I was at a presentation yesterday concerning demographics and the changing needs of people. They supported everything you wrote. More urban, fewer children, dogs replacing children with ownership up something like 60%.

It would seem to me that it would be a great time to get into the business of dog walking downtown right now.
