I liked Liev but the story line with the young girl he's nailing kind of creeps me out. He seems he should be above that. I plan on catching up though.

Last night was a turn for the worse.

Now I hope that this ends with Dex on death row and of course DEB DEAD.

I am only watching out of habit, and to see how it ends, not that I care much.

What really sucks is that the end of S6 and all of S7 was building to an endgame for Dexter (and likely Deb as well), that somehow he would go down, which I would have been fine with. Instead, within 10 minutes of the start of S8, they hit the reset button, basically completely trashing the buildup of the last season-and-a-half, and came up with the worst "Deus Ex Machina"-laden season by far.

At this point (and since about episode 6 or 7), there will be (and can be) no way this series ends with any kind of satisfying ending. The random scud missile will be about as good as any other way it ends.

its just all over. its a clusterfuck of shit, and dexter keeps doing dumbass shit, which is completely opposite of how he started as a character. the only thing this show has going for it is deb. she gets hotter every season. shes the best character on the show.

yeah and around episode 8 they are saying dexter is starting to replace his need to kill with love. this show has turned into true blood. hannah is still hot. deb keeps looking better. honestly most of the acting is very good but the story line is horseshit. instead of every season ending with a "no way out" cliffhanger, every episode now is. but the beginning of the next episode everything is fine. its just stupid.

I accept that analysis. everything boils over at the top. I'm trying to decide if Hannah and kid go down in a crashing plane, and Dexter goes over the deep end. Or, Dexter escapes unscathed, and Deb takes his place as the resident serial killer.

Or the Dad becomes real, and Dexter becomes his inner voice.
