 You just have the answer to everything. Its actually quite amazing. You should be President, manager of the Cubs, coach of the Bears, and run the 670 The Score all at the same time. You obviously have all of the knowledge to run all of those things, and run them well, as you so aptly demonstrate here on a daily basis.

Rick Morrisey quote:I have a sneaking suspicion that Theo Epstein is not going to can himself for the crimes his Cubs have committed against baseball the last two seasons. I’m not suggesting he should, but the idea that manager Dale Sveum deserves to be sent packing because of this mess is laughable. Blaming Sveum for the Cubs’ hitting, pitching and fielding would be like blaming a director for Paris Hilton’s rendering of Lady Macbeth.

Seriously? Really? This happened? Today? He's still been doing this for six weeks with this possibility? You're not f'ing with me? Kevin Gregg got 500k today? Are you sure? Please confirm.

Patrick Mooney ‏@CSNMooney
Cubbie Occurrence: Kevin Gregg actually reached a $500,000 performance bonus today for his 50th game finished.

Of course not, but you knew it had to be a Red Sox foot soldier over Sandberg. "No major league experience!"

The fact that there is two pages about Dale Svuem tells me as much as I need to know about the next few years of Cubs baseball.

Scratch Ryno off the list. PHI has removed the interim tag as they have been impressed by the job he has done.

I certainly can support Girardi. Let's hope they make a serious run at him.

I wish they would have just hired Sandberg. He was the right guy for the job. Now the Phillies just locked him up after turning them around.

I agree. What's curious is no back story has come out on that. Clearly there had to be some reason Ricketts didn't want Sandberg.

Svuem was just a guy to run the team during years when the team had no chance. But he should be replaced because he has not helped the young players under his leadership to develop as much as might be reasonably expected. Guys like Castro and Rizzo have had underwhelming seasons and they are supposed to be major pieces of the puzzle. Joe Girardi may be thought of as a guy to lead a more veteran team that is ready to win, but he did a great job managing the Marlins, when they had a team with many very young players. He did a great job helping those players develop and took a team that was expected to lose over 100 games and instead led them to a very respectable (.500) season. he's just a solid manager, whether the team is a developing one, or a team ready to contend.

Wayne Randazzo ‏@WayneRandazzo 49m You get the feeling being around the ballpark that Sveum's seat is very hot. #Cubs
