This board was better two years ago when everyone hated Tall Midget for being smarter than them.

The nude scene between Dame Judi Dench & Arthur Treacher was disturbing.

I'm not taste testing that fish and chips combo.

I thought the list was regular posters. TM is more irregular than Taco Bell.

Arthur of course gained popularity On Merv Griffins show as co-host. Remember the band leader?

One of my favorite thread ever was the Ask Bernstein thread, where TM pulled out every multisyllabic word he could think of, and Bernstein responded with "Yes, No, Ok".

I don't think Curious Hair reads most of this board.

Reading magazines that only have pictures doesn't qualify as intellectual.

Even in Wisconsin.

95% of my posts are as disposable and interchangeable as anybody else's. I don't get this thread at all.

This thread is like a magnet for the board's funniest posters. Well done, all.

That said, it bears stating that this--

Didn't you create Leery Bingo? That alone is enough for legend status.

Well, one thing you have understand is, in terms of intellectualism when it comes to the game of baseball, there is always a high accumen that needs to be recognized, especially at the position of second base. Now, in the realm of second basemen in the Major Leagues, when I played, I was the best because I put forth the most effort plus execution and results followed. That is always a recipe for success. When you maybe do one thing nicely once in a while, like a certain second basemen who played for another team in the National League Central Division, maybe you look at your career and say it was a job well done. But a job well done is not a hall of fame career, like mine was.

In the mindset of a second baseman, you're looking at the short stop, you're looking at the first baseman--you are also eyeing the outfield because sometimes those outfielders cannot make the play that you can. See, in terms of positional importance, nothing is more important than the second baseman. They are the quarterback of the infield--actually, they're more like the head coach of the entire diamond. A pitcher will defer to his second baseman if he's smart. All of the time. My four daughters know this, and even though they're scientists working on cures for supercancers that still haven't been discovered on planets in other solar systems. But if you ask them about how important a second baseman is in baseball, they can point you directly to my name.

Now in the days of the Machine, you had to be a little more cognizant of the batting order as a second baseman. Sometimes they were considered "contact hitters". In my definition, every hitter in the lineup should be making contact. So that's redundant. They should be considered "run producers", or "relay runners". They are going to get on base, if they play like I do, and they will be the smartest baserunner most likely. Sometimes in that case they should lead off.

But of course, all of this is known if you have any amount of intelligence playing the game of Major League baseball.
