The mom is the chick from reno911, she plays the perfect part. The dad is that one guy nobody knows his name, and he over acts but at least looks the part. all of the children are pretty good picks, no problem there. the grandpa is a good pick too.

there were lol parts to the first episode, but overall it was a little 'pressed'. i wish they did it on the same style as that 70's show, but this is more like modern family and it loses that homely feel to it. they did a lot of shouting, which was brilliant. just like my childhood.

ill watch the next couple weeks, but so far i dont think it will be a smash hit or anything. unless they tone down the "IN YO FACE" style and just let the show progress as life did in the 80's.

Lucky 7 seems like a weird interesting show. Let a group of coworkers win the lottery, watch them all slowly lose their minds. Never play the lottery as a group has been my rule since the beginning. No good can come of it.

You hit the nail on the head. Every ABC sitcom since Modern Family has tried to duplicate the same formula. This show was a "miss" for me. I think The Middle is funnier.

Modern Family is quietly one of the worst things television has done to us in recent years. I want to tape every episode, put th videotapes in a garbage can, run over them with my car, then set the bag on fire. Everyone always complains about "The Jersey Shore," and yes, the people who do so always call it THE Jersey Shore, definite article and everything, but this show is just insidiously corrosive and awful in ways that obvious strains of low television are not.

That said, I might give this a chance because I really like Jeff Garlin. He did a good interview with Andrew Patner a few months ago!

It quickly faded into Bolivian.

This will probably do the same.

Watched the first 5 minutes, it was terrible so I hit delete. If a pilot sitcom isn't funny in the first 5 minutes that is a really bad sign. Writers need to learn that yelling does not equal funny. That was the worst legacy Seinfeld left us with.

I don't think Jeff Garlin can not yell. Even in that interview with Patner I mentioned, he was yelling. It's the loudest anyone's voice has ever gotten on that station without being a Metropolitan Opera broadcast.

I thought it was ok. There were a few laughs. It was loud.

I don't understand why it has to be so heavily saturated with 80s stuff when there is nothing thematically about it that it demands to be in the 80s. Same thing with That 70s Show.

I think it would be great if they explored the relationship between the grandfather and grandson a little more deeply.

It was interesting to see the real people it was based on at the end of the show.

I thought it was pretty good. I have to disagree w/ shakes. Pilots aren't ever as funny as they should be. If a pilot is "a'ight", then there is hope the show will be good. This show made me "LOL" a few times, so I have high hopes for this one.

The Larry Sanders Show had a terrific pilot, as did Arrested Development. Of course, we're talking about two of the best comedies of all time here. It's hardly to be expected from everyone.

I think they just should have continued making That 80's show........though we would never have It's always Sunny because Dennis wouldn't have been looking for work.

As far as this show....I watched it. It was ok. I always think the dad is mike golic at first when i see him on something. It could work as long as it doesn't interfere with my tuesday night Amish Mafia viewing. Merlin is up to some crazy shit these days. I need to go hang with that fool someday. Holmes county Ohio is not that far away from me and I have been there before amongst the ams.

"that 70's show" didn't really dwell in the 70's as far as culture. outside of the hairstyles and clothes, and the occasional reference, it was really just a regular goofy sitcom. i always liked it.

"that 80's show" was before its time and not very well written. right now the 80's are hot...in about 5-10 years, it'll be the 90's. and the 80's will no longer be "fun", it'll be too retro.

no see that 80's show was based on more fads and folklore. it showed a side of the 80's.. where this goldberg show is focused on everyday life as it actually was for most people. it definitely reminded me of my childhood...

I think he is correct in knowing his career is one where he has to get his money while he can. He is getting old and there haven't been any real roles for him even with Curb recognition. In five years he doesn't want to have to be relying on battling hecklers at some comedy club to feed his family.

Did you sit through the whole thing? I was able to figure this all out in 5 minutes and save myself an additional 20 by hitting delete. Might've been the worst opening 5 minutes I've ever seen on a tv show in my entire life.
