yea, it sucks that the season is ending, but I'm really looking forward to next year. Considering I spent the first half of the season reworking my entire golf swing I feel like I made amazing strides over the past couple months. Can't wait to go into next year with a swing I already like and just spend the whole summer fine tuning things and getting lots of repetition as opposed to doing a complete overhaul. Next summer's goal is to be a single digit handicapp. The program I use now says I'm a 10.6, but I don't know how accurate that is since I do it through the sky caddie website and not the USGA. I enter all my scores and the course rating and slope, is there anything else needed to figure out handicap?

Plans have changed and now I am golfing west of Milwaukee at a course called Kettle Moraine on Saturday.
Looks like a fun course and really hilly online. Still on the fence for Sunday.

I hope to have a membership next year and will get a handicap established through the WSGA. I think all you
need is score, rating and slope. You have played some tough courses this year so that may have adjusted your
handicap some. 10.6 is essentially low to mid 80s which doesn't sound completely outrageous.

I was able to accomplish my two golf goals this year: 1) Reach a single digit handicap again and 2) Break 80 more than once.

Baby steps.

In speaking with a buddy of mine I am going to retire the 1 iron at the end of the season. Apparently
Adams Golf is making a cross between a hybrid and one iron and I will purchase it in the offseason.
The loft is 2 degrees more than my 1 iron but seeing that it is 20 years old my thought is that the
technology will offset that pretty easily. Comes in an 18 degree version.

T-Bizzle, that hybrid is going to be huge on Tour next season as well. Driving irons are all the rave these days with a lot of those guys, and good players like yourself would benefit greatly.

Ugie, my friend is a huge equipment hound and he told me the same thing, that a lot of guys on tour were
trying to get out of their club contracts so they could put it in the bag. Apparently the better players are
able to actually work the ball with it. I've been a fan of the 1 iron for a very long time so it is nice to see
everyone else get on board I am intrigued by the updated technology. I just have never been
able to hit fairway woods and never have owned a hybrid. I guess I am pretty resistant to change so this
is a nice medium ground for me. For $200 it is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new driver and I will hit
it off the tee just as much as the big stick.

Just think of it like a twilight round. Its coming to an end yes, but there is still plenty of time to get out and enjoy 4-6 rounds before the weather really starts to turn. Even in November its possible to get a 50 degree day which is warm enough for me to go out. Last year my season "ended" in December on a warm 49 degree morning.

I like the traditional look of that one much more than the Adams but I really believe the beefiness of
the other design will work for me. The Titleist one looks like it would be a bit harder to hit. I need some
forgiveness, my Ping Zing 1 has been my security blanket for a long time.

I've seen you play golf. You would do fine with the Titleist.

Those are my exact same goals for next season.


My goals this season were to break 80 and play pretty consistently in the low 80s by the end of the season. Mission accomplished, although I'm still capable of putting up a score in the 90s and considering I broke 80 back in July I would've liked to do it more than once, but overall I am very happy with my season.

Got out on Saturday morning to a course about 30 minutes north of Lake Geneva. Very interesting and
hilly layout. Weather was cool but sunny early and warmed up nicely by the time we finished. Greens
were ridiculously sloped but still fair. For $30 walking I couldn't complain and my dogs were barking
by the end of the round. Ended up shooting a 77 with a bad triple bogey on one hole that should have
been a par and one three putt. Overall pretty happy with it.

Even 50 for 10 holes on Saturday. 9 hole course, played the 8th hole twice. 2 pars, a birdie, and 2 doubles. Very meh except for the birdie and a real nice 2 putt on a long par 3 to save par.

Bachelor party next Saturday at Gleneagles, so hoping it stays dry and I can be in the mid 80s or so.

played Saturday at Chalet Hills in Cary. Really tough course off the tee. Greens ran a lot slower than I would've liked. 45-45-90. Had a hockey game the night before and then getting up at 6:30 and driving over an hour did not help my back. Was really stiff all day. Had some fat shots and mishits as a result. But, me and my partner won our match so its all good.

Next day took the fiancee to Prairie Landing in West Chicago. If there's a nicer course in Chicago I haven't played it. Has some tough tee shots where you have to put the driver away. Greens were fast and true, but playing the day before on slow greens screwed me. Had 4 3 putts and didn't hit a putt all day. Shot 44-42-86 which I was really happy with considering the putting. Played much better than my score. Had a triple bogey on a par 3 where I misread the wind and hit a perfect 4 iron over the green and into a trap with a bad downhill lie. Also had 2 double bogeys. So played 3 holes at 7 over and the other 15 holes at 7 over. Drove the ball as straight as I have all year, hit 70% fairways and really did better than that cause I had one that was perfect but found a tiny trap in the middle of the fairway. 56% GIR as well.

Had an early day and snuck out to Harborside with a friend at 3:20. Managed to get in about 22 holes before darkness. Played like crap, was down 3 holes to my friend with 4 to play (I give him a stroke on all par 4s and 5s) and won the final 4 holes to win it. Clutch on the final hole where I had a perfect drive and then hit a 155 yard 7 iron to 8 feet and drained the birdie putt.

I just added shakes to my 1st fall scramble event team on October 12th.
Should be a good time assuming the weather works out and he makes some clutch
putts.

Waiting for the time when I can finally say
That this has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way

very rarely cause usually its a struggle just to finish 18. Only did it the other night cause we skipped a few holes trying to get ahead of 4somes so by the time we got to 18 we had only played 15 holes. So we went to the other 18 hole course they had to make up the difference and once we breezed through a few holes there was still sunlight and our match was getting tight so we figured we would put a darkness deadline on our match, hence the extra few holes.

Plus, when Harborside is charging $55 to play twilight when they know full well you will have a hard time finishing I don't have a problem playing extra holes when you actually can. I'm sure for every extra hole we played there were 10 groups out there that didn't get to finish all 18. So in a way, we're heroes.

Yeah very tough to now. In June and some of May and July its easy if you can tee off around 3 or 330.

Played 33 in Michigan last year, teed off about 5pm. It stays light there until almost 10pm during the middle of June. We were walking off of the last green we played at 9:45pm. There were only 3 of us for the first 18 holes, and then one guy left so it was just two of us left so we were able to move pretty quick.

I'm fired up for this event, looking forward to playing some competitive, serious team golf. I know I'll be the worst player on the team, but I've done really well in those types of formats all season so I'm hoping to continue that trend. Plus, playing with better players is always a treat and imo makes you step up your game.


I forgot to mention, my round Sunday at Prairie Landing...got paired up with the 2 worst golfers I've ever seen. 2 guy in their 30s, never seen swings that bad. They would have 8-10 shots on average before I got to hit my drive. And no sense of etiquette. But, very nice guys, they just didn't know any better. Like if there is a group waiting behind you and you've already had 12 strokes and you still aren't on the green its probably time to pick up your ball rather than finishing out your 17.

Me and my fiancee finally ditched them on hole 7 and jumped ahead when we were already 40 minutes behind pace and it looked like we wouldn't finish our 1:40 tee time due to darkness.

Playing Channahon on Sunday. If I play like I did last Friday at Carillon the sticks are going back under the bed for the winter.

I want to play so bad this weekend but things aren't looking too promising. 80% chance of rain
tomorrow and I really didn't enjoy my last round in the rain.
