I hate crocs. The thought of them. The way they look. The perception you give off when you wear them. Everything. Just awful.




But when I really think about it, they would be perfect to wear while mowing the lawn. Easy to clean. Don't have to worry about dirtying up any of the shoes I like. I'm sure I could find "cool" ones, like Bears, Badgers or something... but I can't help but predict I would feel like a piece of shit douchebag for wearing them.

There's a guy I work with who can provide some interesting insight on mowing the lawn while wearing beach-type footwear- we call him "ole nine toes".

You can wear Crocs at other times, if you want. Not that there is anything wrong with that. The CSFMB opinion of one Bucky Chris probably wouldn't change much. Hell, it might improve. :wink:

the landscaping places seem to think they're exempt from that, i've seen some out at 630/7 on a saturday

We definitely have some companies out there at or a little before 7 on the weekends. I'm usually up, but I bet that pisses a lot of people off.

I keep a pair of crocs by the back door, very fast and easy to slip on to take out the garbage, water the plants etc. I cut grass with them on, the only problem is when you start using the weed whacker and all the debris goes right in your shoe and all over your sweaty feet.

Interesting, hadn't considered that. My socks usually get that debris which is annoying. I'm guessing I'd prefer to just rinse my feet, rather than dealing with the socks.

One time I was mowing downhill with a push power mower. My foot slipped under me, went under the mower deck and tore the front of my shoe off. Ever since then, I told the wife to mow the lawn.
