The only book of his I read was Clear and Present Danger. Seen some of the movies which were just
ok. The Hunt For Red October was the best movie in my opinion.

Read a lot of his stuff. The non-fiction was just plain great. Marine,Fighter Wing and carrier where the best. Let you see how units in the real world worked.

sad to hear. I attempted to read several of his books and could never make it through one.

This business got out of hand, and he was not lucky enough to live through this.

R.I.P. May his eulogy be 1,400 pages long. Nobody wore a white suit quite like him.

Start with "Go Dog, Go!" and work your way up from there.

YES! A lot more entertaining then "The Executioner". How many times can you read about a body count piling up?

Well Remo and Chiun did basically the same thing, just more interestingly imo.

I liked the video game spin-offs of his novels more than anything.

Yeah I got my authors named Tom mixed up. I really need to lay off the Robotussin DM. :) Nice catch though.

I was into his stuff when I was younger. I read a good amount of the Ryan-verse books and the Rainbow Six novel. Fast, breezy, well-researched, bathroom quality pablum. Nothing earth-shattering in his themes but I was usually engrossed and entertained.

Well, as much as you all think he sucked, he made a lot of money, and as a stupid writer, I would rather make money than be acclaimed 100 years later. Hope he spent some of it before he croaked though.

I should say that I only read Red Storm Rising (I think) when I was in a summer break during HS and had literally nothing to do. Seriously the books could be cut by 1/3rd if he had a better editor.
