I don't understand where all of this is coming from, especially now. The Sox are a horseshit team this year and are not a news story so why bring it up right now? When the Sox won it in 2005 I saw Jerry with my own eyes as an extremely proud and happy man, not some asshole scheister who only cares about money and screwing people over.

He has shown great loyalty throughout the years with his employees and keeps them in the organization long term. He and Kenny get players to sign for under market value because they want to stay here and keep working for him. That's really all I need to know.

Well said Hawk. They're bad this year but I don't really see the point in trying to dig the knife deeper. I don't care about Jerry's motivations. I just want to see the team do better.

Also I beg to differ. The divsion the White Sox have played in has been The Weakest in Baseball until last year. Cleveland had a good run, corresponding with the voting for the rebuilding of 'the Jake' and Detroit has not been good in 20 years until last year, so basically for 20 years the Chicago White Sox have been competing with the Minnesota Twins who have so little money and attendance, Bud wanted to close shop in Minnesota.

Minn Since 1983, 6 Div titles and 2 World Series
Sox since 1983 3 Div titles and 1 World Series (Congrats again to Ozzie, players and fans)
Cleve since 1983 6 Div titles
KC since 1983 2 Div
Detroit since 1983 3 Div
and they had Milwuakee for a few years

The Sox organization has been competing against the SMALL Market teams since he entered the arena of baseball and is in the middle of the pack. They should have dominated that group for years

prior to 1995, there was 2 divisions- the east and west. dont forget about the A's in the early 90s, who were in the sox division.

and the cubs shouldnt have been dominating? they were competeing against mostly "small market" teams, and they had sammy sosa and the glorified museum that is wrigley field packed to the hilt 81 times a season.

Frank, realize the Sox owner is smarter than whatever member of the Lucky sperm club who has been out in charge of the Cubs year after year.

Jerry makes rules when none exist and of course he gets them made in his favor. Similar to a certain HR king, who says there was no steroid rule and he is right. He never broke any rule.

The Cubs Division, having Houston and St Louis are enough competition. Both organizations maximize all their talents and while neither spends like the Yankees and BoSox, they have a history of going for it with spending big money when they feel necessary.

Such as acquistions of Clemens, Petite, this year signing C Lee and when they went to get Beltran for the stretch.

St Louis is one of the GREAT organizations in Baseball. I do include Minnesota in that select group of GREAT organizations and maybe they would not be great if they had money? But they Maximize all talent within the organization.

Houston and St Louis have been doing this for years and years, not just since 2006. While they have had their bad years, they always retooled and came back.
