I hope he survives too. I hope he survives, gets completely healthy and builds his empire back up.

Based on these comments, this leads me to believe that Walt & his family & Jesse survive. Most BB fans are still rooting for Walt & Jesse. I can't imagine that Walt killing his family would leave viewers feeling fulfilled & satisfied.
My money is on some sort of dream, then Walt actually acts on it. The end.

funny, I imagine that flash-forward scene of him going back to his house as being the opening scene in the last episode. that seems like a setup to the end more than the conclusion.

yeah, pretty sure its not gonna end with him loading up on weapons, retrieving a deadly poison and waving at the neighbor and then fade to black

Gilligan has always been surprised that people root for Walt. In his mind, Walt is Scarface. They even had the scene last season or so of the family watching Scarface and talking about how everybody dies at the end. That was so "on the nose" that I kind of believe it is a misdirection.

But, I could absolutely see how in Gilligan's mind a fulfilling ending would result in Walt's death for sure.

AMC was running a BB marathon last night. I watched a few S1 episodes. Just amazing to see where the show started, compared to where it is now.

They're running every episode of the series between now and Sunday night.

I would go one step further and say that Gilligan is quite annoyed that people still root for Walt. He's layed it on thick the last few episodes in an attempt to villainize Walt as much as he can. No way he lets Walt walk away from this series in good shape.

bb definitely started out mediocre and got really good... which is what many shows do... but take dexter for example, that was a home run right off the bat, then slowly faded season by season into utter garbage.

edit i just got caught up and ready for the final episode... all i have to say is damn. this show is ending awesome. you definitely dont watch this thinking you know what will happen, but you also dont keep sayin to yourself "yeah, right". not too many lucky or bad breaks in the story, just situations that could happen which makes it so much more believable (fuck you dexter)

It was ok. Could've confused it for any regular episode.

Yeah my comment was definitely hyperbole.

But it wasn't anything special.

I don't know what else could've been expected. Gritty, straight-forward, visceral, and Vince didn't back away from making definitive decisions about the characters.

Certainly greatest show in the last 20 years .... it wouldn't be a stretch to say ever to date.

Personally LOVE the closing song choice.

Same feelings. Just another solid Breaking Bad episode pretty much.

That's like saying Michael Jordan is one of the top 5 basketball players of all time.

IMO this is the greatest series in the history of television.
