Every stupid thing drinky says can't be cast off as a bit. He's really a dumb ass that's not needed for Bernstein to do his thing. Bernstein doesn't wang-whip him like he does callers, but you can tell he thinks drinky is a dumb ass by the way he responds to him. He often pauses and you can sense the roll of the eyes to drinky's dumb comments.

Bernstein thinks drinky is a dumb ass meatball. He doesn't have the heart to actually tell drinky that. Understandable. Gotta see him every day. Just like Bernstein never had the heart to tell Goff that he hates black people. Goff should have figured that out, though. Never did. Yeah, I know several people who have been making that comparison for about as long as Terry has been a regular on 'SCR.

The "eeee eeee eeee" noise.
The self-deprecating "Oh, I don't know, I don't know what I'm talking about..." bit.
Many of the nonsensical comments, while often funny, are very Letterman-esque.

I didn't really notice it until they pointed it out, but after that it seemed clearer.

Admittedly, I've listened to more Terry than I have watched Letterman, so maybe it's there and I'm just not familiar enough with Letterman to notice.

There's no way you watch Letterman for, let's say, a week or two then come back here and claim you don't hear all of the subtle conversational ticks that Terry has ripped. I'm not sure that it can really even be debated...it's clear.

All of the stuff pointed out above, and pepper in a rambling sentence followed, quickly, with a "I don't know, I'm just an idiot" and you have a Letterman clone.

Back to drinky - nice to hear that he was relieved of the update duties....I'm predicting him popping on mic, soon, with a "Dan, didn't you say that Girardi would take this job because of this roster? That's dumb, Dan. No, Dan, that's what you said. I heard it."

If you start watching Letterman you'll think "Hey, he's ripping off Terry Boers' schtick!"
