Back to the original topic:

All of the guys saying "I don't buy girls anything" are lying. We all do it. If this dude has more disposable income than I do, then he buys her "Coach" shoes, on a whim. Because that's what he does. Just like I buy my girl some skittles if she behaves.

She probably bought him some LuLu Lemon socks and he wore them to the brewery. To "taste" beers.

Wouldn't want to have to drink a whole beer if I'm not 100% committed.

Even a bad beer is still a beer!!!

I always assumed the tasting room was somebody's idea to capitalize on a bar's extra room when it wasn't being rented out for bachelor parties or baby showers.

You're really giving him shit for doing a beer tasting? Good lord. Or maybe I'm missing this board meme.

Some of us are more refined than others I guess. I got no problem if someone like spanky cares so much about volume in his beer drinking experience. A lot of people want to drink the most amount possible. He'd walk in there, order each of the 12 beers in order, and dominate that bar like the true hero that he is. As he walked out, there would be an audible clapping from the bartenders and patrons on his great accomplishment. I'll just have to settle for my 1/3rd portion of each and the shame that it has brought me on this message board. I tip my cap to you spanky.

When we were dating, I wouldn't buy expensive stuff like coach jeans or whatever, but I would buy little things a couple times a month. I'd make sure I had wine that she liked in the house, I'd say lets go out for breakfast and pick up that tab, candles or little toys/treats for her pets. Little things like that tend to go a long way. She would do the same for me too- a box of of golfballs, she'd buy the ingredients and then cook a nice dinner, etc.

Maybe its a different scene in Manhattan. I dunno...seems kinda flimsy to me.

This seems reasonable, normal and healthy.

People who buy things for women are morons.

Except dinner. You must pay for that, even if it's your own birthday.
