So .... Daniel has an issue with Brandon's apparent lack of self-awareness by holding the position that he (Brandon) is asserting that he (again, Brandon) can say whatever he wants to .... I made sure to point out Brandon because it's way too easy to interchange Dan's name with this.

All of this seems fascinating, but I'll look to Silvaddle for some real sports talk. These guys are buffoons.

Dan said that Girardi would come to the Cubs unless he didn't, and by golly, he's right again!

I think he is a little tired of it being used as an excuse.

What Marshall is doing is no different than most other diva WR's in the league. Mike Wallace said some similar things after a win too.

I believe the issue here is how Marshall is now using it as a crutch. He is the one bringing it up.

exactly... it is no different than most other top end WR do when they dont get the ball... this is a non-issue... this is what you get when you have a stud WR.... it doesnt bother me one bit marshall is sulking... i accept the fact top end WR's are divas and are only happy if their numbers are good.... this isnt worth talking about... but it osunds like we have 5 hours of it coming ahead?

That's what he said about the Cubs. About Girardi himself, he said "he has made it known that if the Cubs talk, he will listen, however, this could also be a negotiating tactic to get more money from the Yankees." Which is what it was. So Dan was "right."

I think they sort of like to make fun of Nascar fans and the fact that people are shocked when someone dies driving a car that goes over 200 mph.

I dont think they especially Terry hate Nascar. Sure they make fun of rednecks but any idol the size of Dale Sr. is a fat fastball for these guys.

Well, I think they understand that there is a certain portion of Nascar fans that have a screw loose and so them being threatened really shouldn't surprise them. There's only so much you can make fun of someone or something before someone threatens you. It's not right that they get threatened, but it's not like the ESPN people get threatened for their coverage either.

If Dan's sources on this Girardi story were telling him the truth, then the Cubs brass are clueless.

1) they were confident they could land him because it is a better job
2) they were willing to pay him $30 million

So he took a worse job for $14 million less?

and yet we always say whats the difference between a few million.. once your rich youre rich. kids mattered more. although, if they were my kids, i would have just gave them $1mil each to move to chicago with daddy.

They just had a guest on there that said "The Cubs always viewed it as a long shot".

THERE IS NO PLAN B!

You misunderstood. There is no plan B because the plans are numerically coded. Plan 1, Plan 2, Plan 103. Etc.

Rosenthal just basically told BErnsie he is full of shit. And if he was right it was tampering. He went on to say cubs job is not known to be better job.

So they viewed it as a longshot, but fired a manager with a year left on his contract in a year that they have already hinted they are conceding.

Julian Green is finally earning his media relations salary today.

But but but, they had a blank check, and permission to use it, wha happen Mr. Bernstein?!?! As has been said, there was no PLAN B. THEY WERE ALL IN!?! Your sources stated that he did, indeed, want to talk to the Cubs. That if he hadn't already extended with the Yanks that, well, you know.

Oh man, my world is upside down right now. Dan. Was. So. Sure. Big. Boy. Sources.
