Only one of them has had any success in MLB.

I wonder why Theo gets so much focus?

He could have dumped Hendry in year 1. He might have hired a bright young mind like Rick Hahn.

Theo gets all the focus because Ricketts wanted it that way. He hired a guy that they knew was going to be the story. If the Cubs lose it's Theo's fault for not re-creating the Red Sox magic. The other side of the coin is that if they win, Theo gets all the credit as well. I dont think Ricketts really cares, he's just along for the ride spending his old man's money.

The real loser IMO is Jed, he is actually the GM and he never gets mentioned unless it's as part of the 'funny' name mash ups.

Maybe only the smart thing Ricketts has done. Embarrassing part is a bunch of people are falling for it as seen by all the media attention and 80 to 1 Theo/Ricketts post ratio.

the worst thing about the ricketts is the whole creepy clan uniting for that obligatory segment of the WGN right-b4-opening-day hourlong special about cubs baseball. there's usually a shot of them all sitting in chairs holding forum like a panel at a convention, and then that's intermingled with shorts of these REAL. ACTUAL. HUMAN. BEINGS. walking through the ballpark talking to the great unwashed, which is even less of a problem when they're not donning ponchos and ordering beers from vendors in the front row in the middle of a rainy saturday afternoon fox game.

Once i saw that whole "meet the new boss" thing (cuz they're not the evil faceless media empire--- you know look! you can talk to them and imbibe with them.... it might not be bread but enough of it will definitely break something)--- i knew i could just kind of cackle/chortle/condescending-hub-laugh and sit back and enjoy the show.

i'm enjoying the show.... aren't you?

I cannot imagine the arguments that would take place with my brothers and sisters if we were sitting around a board table discussing an investment whose management was highlighted by our incessant mistakes. It would start off all nice eating some sandwiches and talking about the easy stuff. Then someone would break the seal on bad management discussion and a Jerry Springer Thanksgiving episode would ensue.

Ricketts needs to let the baseball people make 100 percent of the baseball opinions. Almost all successful and good owners try to stay hands off. Give Theo the money he needs and shut the fuck up about baseball operations.

I blame Ricketts plenty. I never cared for Epstein to begin with. All things considered. If Epstein has been given a so called "budget" to work with. He is by far incapable of producing a winner with one.
