How do you turn down a potential offer? I recently turned down a potential offer from Megan Fox to turn her pineapple upside down.

MMMM,pineapple.

Right. The correct way to say it would be "JOE GIRARIDI TURNS AWAY FROM A POTENTIAL OFFER FROM THE CUBS."

A better way for BIG VOICE GUY to go would be "DAN BERNSTEIN HAD IT ALL WRONG. HE EITHER MADE IT UP OR HAD BAD INFO. EITHER WAY, DAN BERNSTEIN LOOKS LIKE A FOOL. STAY TUNED FOR MORE BULLSHIT FROM DAN BERNSTEIN.

This is a loss for the Cubs, Theo and Bernstein.

It's a win for me and Spiegel. Spiegel questioned Bernstein. I had it being an outright lie. It's been proven that I was right.

You mean their "guy" hasn't given a reason for the failure yet?

Big Voice Guy also said that Dale Sveum has been fired and is no longer the manager of the Chicago Cubs. They must pay him by the word.

The good thing about this liner is that they can run it on the Score and the Fan since they both use Big Voice Guy.

The Cubs could not contact Joe while he was still under contract with the Yankees (unless they gave permission, which they did not). So there was never going to be an official offer. I'm sure, through back channels, the Cubs said they would beat the Yankees price.

I actually thought of that angle. Agent is Mandel, right? Both for Bernstein and Giraridi. Agent for Waddle and Ditka, too. Maybe Bernstein was just doing his agent a favor with this BS report to drive up the Yankee price for Giraridi.

Ok. Mandel is Giraridi's agent. Heard Waddle say he was his agent. Just figured Pitmike knew he was Bernstein's as well.

It was Todd in 2002. Funny story I found:

I wonder what's on this list.

Since I rarely listen to these two assholes anymore, but still enjoy following some of the posts about the show on here from time to time, I have a question: Didn't Terry always have a "Cub guy"? Where was he while Dan was spewing all this apparent inside information on the Girardi negotiations and lack of Plan B and so on? Did Terry ever say he'd talk to "his guy" to confirm, deny, augment, or enhance Dan's info? Or has the biggest liar and fraud in the history of Chicago sports radio finally just given up the charade that he has sources?

I always thought Terry's Cubs guy was Dave van Dyck. If that's the case, he probably isn't very connected these days. Continue to keep up a fire and passion that should be reserved for important things.

Rozner was on LoHo last night (hey, I download the podcasts of some interviews) and basically said anyone who thought Girardi was coming was dumb, and anyone who reported it was played by Girardi.

Are you saying that Bernsy is a shill or that his agent is ethically challenged?

He's most definitely a shill.

I don't agree with that angle, simply because Dan Bernstein wouldn't make such a move if there weren't something in it for himself to gain. How would Bernstein shilling for Girardi benefit him in any way?

Well, if Mandel isn't Bernstein's agent then you're right, obviously. Like I said, I thought pitmike knew that to be a fact. But he might do it if it were his agent and they were actually friends in addition to their business relationship.

Or, at the very least, could have just been suckered by his agent to drive up the Yankee price. It's been reported that Giraridi ended up getting one more year than the Yankees wanted to give him. Bernstein should be smarter than to fall for that.

Fact is Bernstein was wrong no matter what the reason. Had bad info or made it up.

I still wonder if Girardi talked with Theo over the phone and just didn't like him. He might have told Joe that he will retain Chris Bosio as PC and Girardi wanted old Cub,Rothschild to return.

Is Dan's source the same source who told Terry that Lovie was going to get a 2 year contract extension? IIRC Mac and Spiegs said in so many words that they thought that was also bullshit.

Remember in grade school when you'd send your friend over to a girl you liked to test the waters whether there was mutual interest as it shielded you from any negative repercussions should she say no?
