Nice article in the above link.

The Cubs have a huge flux of Latin talent coming up. Ozzie would be bigger than Girardi if he was hired.

Anyone who thinks this is an intelligent question is completely fucking dumb.

This ends any and all constructive discussion on the matter as it addresses the only salient point.

Four years ago I would say yes to this. The problem is the circus that comes with him. I don't need Oney tweeting about how Starlin Castro needs to stop waking up with different women every morning or whatever other complaint barrage he wants to throw. I don't need to listen to the media blitz when Ozzie speaks his honest mind. The guy is still a great manager, but it just wont work in Chicago.

Yeah, just a suggestion. At least he brings some fun back. I liked Sveum but he sounded like a mortician.

So I guess I'm dumb for suggesting that the only man to manage a World Series winner in this pathetic baseball town in the last 90-something years is a bad hire. Hey you go jump on the AJ Hinch bandwagon,I'm sure there is plenty of room.

No one is trying to hire Guillen.

He is fucking toxic. Even TV doesn't want him. Him and Quade must be best buds!

Ask the 1062 people who voted none of the above.

That's not why you're dumb.

So many players on that 2003 marlins team raved about Ozzie as being the reason they did well. As a 3rd base coach

If Ozzie were to check the sideshow at the door then I could see him being a good manager for a young team. I think that the media beast he has become is too big and too engrained in him to make it possible though.

Did they finally make that Purge day legal?
If so cleanse Ozzie of Rongeys best friends and I'd consider making Ozzie a coach.

^^^this^^^^ -- purely as a baseball move i'd do it in a heartbeat, but you'd have to try and muzzle that side of things. the cubs aren't really used to too much social media unrest.... i think sappelt went off on a proper rant that resulted in him deleting his twitter acct after he got sent down early in the year. that's about all i can think of going on in the cubs' twitter universe.

if you could risk the chance of that aspect of the guillen "package" showing up, i still think he's a very good and solid manager when he gives a shit, which is perhaps the far bigger question than "what will crazy oney do now?"
