9 troughton episodes found in nigeria, making for two stories. "Enemy of the world" and "web of fear". Not the 106 episodes previously reported. (Which is the total number of missing episodes from the 60s. Not a bad haul, as the majority of lost episodes were from 2nd doctor's era.

oh the announcement finally came out? gallifrey base (which grows more unreadable for me by the day as i'm honestly quite put off by dr. who fandom) had this weird embargo on discussion of the episodes, literally with a global admin announcement up top on the homepage saying that he's closing the missing episodes discussion thread and you're not to post rumors or speculation about rumors as they will be deleted and you will get banned if you persist past that. then he literally said "let's just wait and see what the BBC has to tell us when they're good and ready" which kind of defeats the whole fk'n purpose of a messageboard that, example, has people camping out outside of who shoots taking a bunch of pictures and trying to ascertain plot points from whatever they're watching getting filmed.

so yeah, it's ok to do THAT..... but talk about who found how much of what in ethiopia or whatever? fuck, i'd ban you from the site myself if i had the werewithol to do it.

and hey beebo, i'm gonna get to the PM you sent me.... it's just that in the past i first catch the PM when i'm on the mobile phone or something and i'm like "oh shit i wanna write out something thoughtful to him" and then i keep on forgetting and never get around to it, hell i think i even left your end-of-the-season thoughts msg unread cuz i wanted to make sure i had the time for a proper response when i did get around to replying. i'll do that a little bit later on today after i deal with my wonky cellphone and shit. merci.

btw, despite the embargo i picked up a quick soon-to-be-deleted-rumor that the BBC has found a bunch of stuff and they're going to try and make these announcements of ~2-3 serials at a time and gradually roll it out. some people claim they've got 90+ episodes or maybe even that # of 106 that i'm pretty sure i saw going around and that this first modest announcement is just "a taste" or "the tip of the iceberg" ---- but then again, this could just be a giant trolling in the wake of hte 50th cuz man, when you read a place like gallifrey base you can't help but want to make fun of these sheep..... i swear to god the fandom is so uptight and b/anal that it makes you wonder if this is THE nerdiest fandom out of the whole lot of 'em (star wars i'm glaring @ you)

Doubt that, Sini :-) Just gonna blow me off. Sniff, I can take it...

In any event, my sources are the BBC web site. Official information. Along with quotes from "Jamie" and "Victoria" who were companions from that era... They still are missing Web of Fear episode 3, but they already worked on filling the missing bits with animated segments.

In my world, the more we see of Troughton's work, the more his stock will arise. It seems a disproportionate amount of the silly/bad episodes were among the surviving episodes from his era. Plus nearly everyone borrows from his interpretation, so from a thinker of deep thoughts perspective (tm), I'd like to see more of the man's work. (Rather than dismissing him because the 'Krotons' and 'Dominators' suck rocks)

So yeah, all nine episodes found in a television relay station in Ethiopia.

Let's keep something in mind. The "Intelligence", a key figure in this past years' episodes, was the villain in Web of Fear. If you somehow believe this is strange coincidence, shame! shame on you!!!

GallifreyBase takes all the fun out of being a fan. I like deep thoughts. I like the notion of this "1st Doctor" special, where he convinces Verity Lambert to do a show on a time traveler in a blue box... Well, no one else but the Sylvester McCoy Doctor is that meticulous a planner. In fact, when we get to the "who ARE you" final reveal, he's the real doctor, and the others are all decoys.

Why? Because only Tom Baker's character approaches Sylvester's. But Tom's was full of whimsy, too.

I want all 96 remaining episodes. They should let us subscribe to them via iTunes or something, and they're downloaded when restored. "Dr Who of the month club." You'd also get BigFinish radio plays...
