I respect your opinion but obviously my opinion was different and that is why this thread was created. We can have this "you're nobody to be able to call a man/woman a douchebag" for just about everything. This can be said about the opinions we give on every topic. Not agreeing with my opinion is fine but telling me I don't have the right to have one is silly.

I understood when I started this thread I was touching on a subject I had no first hand knowledge of (thankfully) and even if I did knowing we all handle things differently. That still didn't change my opinion that going back to practice after you've found out your child was in critical condition after a brutal beating is unusual and wrong IMO. Not being by the bedside of a child that you knew was going to die and being in practice instead is also wrong IMO. Playing any game less than 48 hours after the death of a child is an unusual response and also wrong in my opinion.

Those are my beliefs. That is why I created the thread. You're not required to feel this way. I didn't ask you or anyone else to agree with me. It's really that simple. The next time you're getting ready to tell someone how they should feel or act I hope you keep in mind your current stance. I'm not going to follow you around reminding you but I will smile at the hypocrisy.

Ideally, you don't have kids you don't know about. Not sure whose fault that is but that's the root of the problem I think

From the second I heard this story there was so many unanswered questions and it didnt look good for anyone involved and stated clearly that we should all leave it alone because it seemed that nothing good would come out of this and I still think this is one of those situations where 'the privacy should be respected'.

I rarely agree with that statement about privacy as it is usually requested by people who are nothing more than media whores and I just dont feel they should be entitled to privacy when they want and other times, listen to everything they say and do.

People have these thoughts after having a bad day and for many other things that aren't a severe as losing a child. The emotional state most people would be in after losing their only child (when they are young) would have a lot of things running through the minds of perfectly normal people. Doesn't mean you would actually follow through with it.

Nothing. I imagine the emotional state I and most people would be in after losing a child would prevent me from mentally being able to mentally focus on anything immediately after their death. How could you possibly miss time from work for anything else? Could there be any reason to at the very least miss practice that would be more important than this?

If we withheld our thoughts for only the things we were certain about this place would have 4 or 5 posts most days. My opinion is his actions were wrong. You don't have to agree.

Great question! Yes I am saying he should act in a way similar to the way I believe I would. For the same reason I think the president and members of congress should do their jobs the way I want them to. For the same reason I believe Jay Cutler should play QB and conduct himself the way I want him too. For the same reason I believe Derrick Rose should mentally and physically do as I say when it comes to his injuries. For the same reason I think the GM's of my favorite teams should make the personnel decisions I want them to make. I think my opinions and views are right until someone can prove to me that they aren't.

Isn't that the reason why we post here? To share these opinions and views with others? Sometimes people agree with us and other times they don't. We come back the next day or next min and share more of our opinions.

The nomination is a good one. A guy who has never even seen his 2 year old child and refrains from telling anyone that's the case, as so many offered condolences on the death of a Son he never met....Douchebag indeed. He's probably more relieved about the child support he will save than despondent about the boys passing. How sad can one be about the passing of someone they never knew???
