There was a little bit of criticism, but nothing like that call insinuated.

Konerko said he was dogging it. Can't remember which injury it was. Thomas got surgery a few weeks later.

It wasn't Konerko that said that. It was David Wells. The clubhouse changed fast in 2000 and I think the young guys never really took to Frank who liked to sit by himself and figure his batting average to the seventh decimal.

David Wells said something to that effect after Frank suffered his injury in 2001. He thought Frank was exaggerating the severity of the injury and then it turned out to be a season ender. David Wells was justifiably portrayed as the asshole that he is.

We do need resolution on this question of Beerstain's height. I propose that Matty be the one to carry out this plot. He will need some kind of recording device. Bring a tape measure in to the studio and mark a place on the frame of a door or wall that is 5'8.5" off the ground. Use painter's tape and if Dan questions it say that maintenance is doing something. Record your entire experimental set up and then record Bernsie walking by or standing next to this spot. Ideally, this spot would be an area that Dan frequents so that he will not suspect nefarious deeds are afoot.

Bernstein strikes me as a 5'6" or 5'7" guy. He is clearly on the shorter side. He often talks about NBA players adding inches to their height and I suspect he does the same thing.
