Your backup QB comes in to put up 31 points and you can't stop anybody.

Just god awfu. God fucking awful. No excuse accepted for this bullshit.

If Cutler gets injured earlier or doesn't throw another pick 7 the Bears win. #Truth

Have a feeling the D will be a recurring winner of this award. Might as well call it DB of the year and start picking on Emery for drafting two defensive busts in his first draft last year.

He hit his WR in the hands.

Come on Frank you know how this works, it is always Cutlers fault.

I am with you, the defense was absolutely SHIT. That is where the blame goes.

Agreed. That was actually a well placed ball. It's a routine drop if the ball doesn't find its way into the hands of the defense. Bad luck.

The pass was too high. The fact he was even able to get his hands on it was a miracle. Cutler had 30 passing yards and was only able to muster 2 first downs. McCown came in in the 2nd half and managed to put up over 300 yards. Sure the defense was bad but being on the field for 22 mins in a half doesn't help. They set the table for all of the points once again for Cutler. He can't continue to take off the first half and pad his stats at the end of games. These are facts.

Cutler sucked but that int is not on him. That's a fact. We even saw Bears players encouraging Jeffery to keep his head up on the sideline after the play. The pass was deliberately placed high, well within Jeffery's catching radius, so only he could catch it. That's why you employ receivers who could also moonlight as NBA shooting guards. This doesn't take away from Cutler sucking.

Nope, I think the injury as bad as it was was the best thing to happen to him when it did. It was early enough in career where he can bounce back and taught him he is not invincible. If you watch him run this year he is not staying in the open field as much. Lot more angling for the sidelines and he is actually sliding correctly after the week 1 near fiasco.

yeah vick looked like that for a season and a half too...but these guys are instinctively option quarterbacks, not system qb's. i don't see anything different in griffin. the bears defense was swiss cheese. i think any qb would've had a field day today.

I can't believe how bad the Bears defense is. I thought they would slip a little bit, but they are terrible. There isn't anything that they do well besides force turnovers. The defensive line sucks, DB's suck, LB's suck except Briggs.

I was not impressed at all with the Tucker hire and have seen nothing to change that thought.

The Melton loss was huge... but I don't think you can win starting Conte every week regardles of what line he is playing behind.

There were multiple occasions against the Bears where he had the sideline but didn't take it and one where he was headed out but actually tried to cut back and took far more contact as a result.

Briggs and Tillman were both out. That's significant.

Chris Conte has morphed into Adam Archuleta before our very eyes.

I'm reading this thread and thinking the same thing. They are starting 3rd string DT, playing 3rd string LB, and their best corner is out. I don't think you could realistically expect better.

O/U in Bears/Packers should be about 60.

The truth is, if Gould doesn't miss that chip shot they probably win.

So that would have been a 5 point field goal?

They would have been down 2 and were just about in field goal range at the end. It changed the way the 4Q was played for both teams.

I thought the same thing especially when the ST got them great field position. I still think he made it though.

Adam Carolla to Rich Eisen Podcast: Raise the uprights

By Gregg Rosenthal
Around The League Editor
Published: June 29, 2012 at 04:37 p.m. Updated: Aug. 3, 2012 at 01:37 a.m.

First things first: I'm an unabashed Adam Carolla fan. If you don't find him funny, I probably can't be friends with you. (On a related note: I have very few friends.)

With that out of the way, I'd like to point out that Carolla's segment this week on the Rich Eisen Podcast was awesome. It even contained a suggested rules change that actually makes all the sense in the world.

Carolla wants to add six to eight feet to the top of the uprights, to help 65-year-old referees with cataracts and vertigo make field goal calls while looking straight up into the night air.

Every year, more and more bad calls seem to be made. The NFL is so tech-savvy in so many ways, and yet we really have no clue whether some crucial field goal kicks actually went in or not. And all we have to do is make the goal posts longer.

I probably can't be friends with anyone that makes an argument against this change
