They played full ice last year. Some of the more skilled or quicker forwards were breakaway prone. I named one kid on our team the black hole.
More puck touches for each player due to smaller space/Better develops puck handling skill & confidence was the selling point for this change. Initially, it sounded great but I don't think so after watching a couple games. It's literally a 4 on one everytime somebody gets the puck. Because of the small space there is no reason to pass, you are not far from the net at any given time and you might have to beat 2 guys that have no time to chase you down if they get beat. There is no defense played, because they don't have room. There is no time to make decisions about where you should be or get to where you need to be because a play never develops. It's face off, skate 3 steps, shoot. The kids are too big. The scores of the game are 10-12.
