I still think its tag and draft someone high.

Otherwise it is let him walk, sign a Carson Palmer type and draft someone high. There are simply too many young QBs making significant contributions early in their careers for me to fear the wrath of Cutler anymore.

This would probably be a good year to blow the rest of the season. It looks like it is happening before our eyes whether we want it to or not.

Not 4-6?

"At least 4" is what they are saying.

Next 5 weeks

1. - Bye
2. @ GB
3. vs DET
4. vs BAL
5. @ Stl
6. vs Dal

Bears should be able to beat STL, who just lost Bradford for the season. If they can beat the Lions or Ravens at home, and go 2-2 the next 4 games, and can get Cutler back for the Dallas MNF game, it won't be that bad.

McCown will suck as usual. Love him or hate him Cutler was the Bears only shot at making the playoffs.

Have faith. This is the moment during the championship DVD where they start to play the sad music.

And in week 7, things were at their worst...

It better not make him mad. If Drew Brees can get the tag so can Jay Cutler.

The thing about Cutler is he is in no position to pout. He's pretty close to being Carson Palmer or even worse having to go some place as a backup.

At this point, it's hard to come up with a team besides Philadelphia that would be interested in making him the starter and I'm not sure he is a good fit there. Minnesota was an option before but you'd have to imagine that Josh Freeman and a rookie is how they will move forward.

The market for Cutler is drying up fast, and if McCown proves effective it pretty much ends the "Cutler was just starting to come into his own" theory.

Your Palmer comparison is probably one of the better I have seen.

What do they mean when they say at least 4 weeks? Meaning out for the full 4 weeks? Cuz he might just miss 2 games with the bye week if it only takes 4 weeks to heal. That Ravens game is exacly 4 weeks after the injury. So he'd just miss the Packers and Lions game.

McCown has a good game|1st half|opening drive against Green Bay and Cutler will have em shoot him up with painkillers and take the field.

There is a very qood college QB in the state of illinois other than Jordan Lynch. Jimmy Garoppolo at Eastern Illinois. He is ranked as the #12 QB prospect & will probably get drafted between the 4th & 6th round. I'm also a big fan of Derek Carr & Aaron Murray. If either fall to the 3rd or 4th round, the Bears should get one of them.

That's just more Matt Blanchard-ism. And I like Blanchard as a backup.

But, the Bears need to take an actual top-level prospect, not a project.

Take a look at the top 15 or so QBs in the league today. Only Romo was taken outside the 3rd round and the only 2 taken outside the first round were Brees (#1 pick of round 2) and Wilson (3rd).

Give the Redskins a 2nd round pick for Cousins, if they'll go for that. Cousins could be a good fit with Trestman's system.

First round is supposedly going to have around 9 QB's this time around

I think Cousins would be great but I don't see the Redskins giving him up with RGIII's style of play.

It depends on what list you reference, but I think there are 6 QB's who are expected to go in the first round.
