I thought he great in the early days of the station and especially as one half of the HFC. I can't say that I blame for taking what I'm sure is hefty paycheck for as long as they'll give him one, but I've really soured on him over the course of the last several years and think the show is much better when Dan is with a partner who will challenge him.

Two things:

1 - Will Frank in Oak Park please never call again? Never, ever, ever. He makes my skin crawl.

2 - The guy who hears the "Liberty Bell" during games. I hear the same damn thing during every Sunday night game! Seriously, there's a fire bell or something similar ringing. I've heard this on Sunday Night Football broadcasts for the last few years.

I do not. I just hate the old windbag from Oak Park.

Rozner, Mac, Spiegel, Mulligan (even though he's bad at radio at least he would challenge Dan and have a thought), Finfer (if he would challenge Dan, I don't know...). Basically, anyone who would not let themselves get steamrolled by Dan and would have some decent sports thoughts would make the show more entertaining to me.

Rozner is good with Dan for a few days at a time but those two are too alike. Mac?! Spiegel?! Mulligan?!! Mac's not interested in challenging Dan. Spiegel tries but is too nice to bring home the bacon argument wise. Mulligan. No, I think that would be a unfunny radio trainwreck.

You're probably right about Mac. I don't think he cares enough anymore to go through the hassle.

I really don't like North, but I think it would be hilarious for a few days to hear him completely ignore everything Dan said and just keep saying "But answer me this..." followed by something even dumber than the last thing he said until Dan quit radio.

Weird Allen Iverson story. Rick Mahorn played for the Pistons when Iverson was a rookie.

Maybe he meant Michael Cage?

I don't think he meant Iverson was a rookie. That shorts rule went in place in 2005...

Did Dan mention one of the grizzled NBA vets drinking coffee when he told that story? Any mention of them opening mail? Where's JORR?

I figured I must have missed some part of that story.

But, Bernsie said Mahorn shook his head and said "can you believe this dude" from a laughing, coffee-sipping Rick Mahorn to which Bernsie said, "that's your guy, that's your rookie".

I just listened to it again.

Yes. Mahorn was drinking coffee.

No mail was mentioned.

I just heard a few minutes today. Dan explaining why Eric Spolestra is a great coach while Terry kind of weakly disagreed. Cubbie Girl Shamus could coach the frickin' Heat.

Wasn't this Dan's idea basically when Spoelstra was given the job?

I coached basketball at the HS level (It was Park District, not school!). I often doubted my acumen and what I said to the team during timeouts UNTIL I started watching when the NBA games mic up the pro coaches. What a joke!
I think most of these guys get paid millions to walk around in a suit for no apparent reason.

I actually think if you put North with bernstein at this point, he would slip right into Terry's role of stammering buffoon. He has no problem playing a combination of Turd/Whipping Boy on Mancow's show. Dat Mike Nort! He's a real profeshnul!

If you don't think a raise, move back to pm drive and a chance to challenge Bernsie would not make Mac come alive again then you don't understand him at all.

Spiegel gets a lot of shit for taking so many days off because of his cover band, but Boers is stealing more than anyone else at that station. When pressed for details or when asked to explain his opinion it becomes clear that he knows nothing.

Boers and Mac are seemingly locked in a battle for title of laziest sports talk personality of all time. On the one hand, Boers pretty obviously watches next to no games of any sort, and he literally phones it in when it comes to the broadcast. On the other hand, Mac completely skips an entire sport, and only shows up to about 1/2 of the shows. Neither man seems likely to back down.

Also,

"Matt Abbattacola is one funny motherfucker!" -No one.
