I believe one of the SCHv1/Committed Indian commenters got to be honored before the game, and said he, along with the more aged veteran, were both treated very well and really touched by it all.

Don't forget about the truck nuts! Nobody cared about NASCAR in the 80s and 90s up there. I think that's a new thing. "Most" people up there are hunters, fisherman, boaters, and snowmobile folks....at least everyone that I grew up with.

I never said it wasn't in the sticks...its the edge of the sticks.

We were on the west side of the Chain...West and North of the Chain is where the corn starts, about 2 minutes from my childhood home.

It's not a Joliet vibe tho...people come to the Chain to enjoy themselves. The weekend warriors from Schaumburg are not hauling their boat to Joliet for a weekend on the river. Know what I mean?

I think he is like a lot of older guys. He dreamed about retirement for a long time but he doesn't want to take that step when it is staring him in the face. I don't blame him. His work schedule is cake and the work itself is light lifting. He can pretty much live the life of a retired grandparent at this point without retiring.

The problem is that his work product is pretty bad but no one tells him.
