This event is something you have always been real excited about and talked up. You had the event set up a year in advance. It is one of the most talked about things on the board. And then just out of the blue, canceled, done with no explanation or anything.

I am not saying you owe anyone an explanation and I get I am someone that never attended, but just saying I understand why it is viewed as strange.
