Fuck it. We can stick to our original bet. And you can continue to defend an instigator because she is female.

Maybe he's just defending a person giving there opinion from someone being a dick. I post when I have something to say. Just because I don't rack up a post count running my mouth with bullshit, doesn't mean I should keep my opinion to myself when I do have something to say.

...and I'm hardly an instigator just because I don't think this City should bow down for Derrick Rose.

She wasn't instigating shit. She was posting her thoughts on Derrick Rose and then you tried instigating a bullshit argument that is already going on in at least 5 other threads. Take that bullshit somewhere else. I woulda said the same thing if you had said what you did to Hawger or jackref. I wasn't being chivalrous, just annoyed with the stupid dual message board bullshit.

I probably shouldn't admit this, but your Derrick Rose trolling is really pissing me off, FF.

I'm not trolling and you'll be reluctantly agreeing with me by April.

It's 3 damn games. I wish this message board was around when MJ came back in 95 and went 7-28 vs The Pacers. I could see you now. "MJ should have stayed retired!"

She is posting on that other board like she is some message board Queen who has been posting for decades. She is an instigator. And I'm not involved in those other threads at the moment, so I'll say whatever the hell I want in this thread.

And are your Derrick Rose thoughts as accurate as your Spurs thoughts? I know you're a self-proclaimed NBA savant, but your current thoughts on Derrick Rose are horrible. It's his third game in. He is rusty as shit. Try back after half a year and if he still sucks, your thoughts might be accurate. For now, you just seem like a troll.

And your Derrick Rose thoughts are much worse than mine. "Wait until it's patently obvious if he's back to 100% or not and then form an opinion." That's ridiculous. Do you also wait until after elections are over to have an opinion on who's gonna win?

You think he's 100% fine(I'm assuming, or else your posts in this thread make little to no sense). I don't think he is. We'll see who's right half a season from now. But I do find it ironic that you implied that I'm arrogant when it comes to the NBA and yet you're the one acting like there's only one opinion that is acceptable to have on Derrick.

Derrick will have great games no doubt. But in the playoffs vs a good defensive team that traps well, he will not be great and will turn the ball over too much. As I said last season when he decided not to come back, I would trade him. Not just because he put himself before the team. But because he had a year filled with one injury after another the season before last and has stated for everyone that he fully intends to play with the same style he employed prior to the knee injury. That means attacking the rim and putting himself in situations regularly where bigger, stronger players are involved in collisions with him. Smaller players that employ that style tend to deteriorate faster and the injuries tend to come along more and more regularly as they get older. I would have traded him if a good package could have been had in return. To be fair, his decision not to return does also play into this though. I don't like guys that do not put the team first.

That would be true, if you hadn't claimed that the Spurs would sweep. Also, I made no proclamations regarding who would make the Finals from the West. You must have imagined that.

Your comparison regarding elections is horrible. I'm not trying to be a dick, but I don't know what else to say. If we were to agree that Derrick Rose were not 100% physically, then I would reserve judgment even further. However, I think he actually is 100% physically. I'm waiting to reserve judgment until he is 100% mentally. I have no political metaphor to give you because it's a bad comparison all the way around.

Regarding your last paragraph, I'm not sure what to tell you. We can disagree on an NBA opinion and still be civil. I'm not sure how I was ever arrogant. You pissed me off when you defended a clear shit-stirrer for some unknown reason. You can think whatever you want about sports, and that's fine. However, if you're accusing me of being a know-it-all in regards to the NBA, I would suggest you take a step back and gain some self-awareness.

I didn't just accuse you of being arrogant, I pointed out how you were. I'm not calling you a troll for your opinion. Looks like I'm not the one who needs some self awareness.

I don't know what to say if you don't get the analogy. You want to wait half a season and then form an opinion. That's fine and all but opinions won't really be necessary by then. It will be objective fact whether or not the old Derrick is back. Now would be the time to speculate, if one were so inclined. I can't really put it any simpler for you. I don't think he's going to return to form. It's not a horrible, wrong, or trolling thought.

And I'm not digging through a bunch of old threads but you absolutely said Oklahoma City would beat SA last year in the postseason.

Leash, why not just disagree? What's with the dickish stuff?

Post counts? That's what were basing stuff on now. Kinda silly..

That said....Derrick is great. Little rusty, bt he'll be back to form in no time. And the city will rejoice.

There are parts of his game that are great (though not so much yet this season) especially where scoring is concerned. But as a point guard, it's his responsibility to run the offense. To get the ball in the hands of his teammates in positions they are most likely to score from on the court. His assist to turnover ratio is not good and his defense is not good either. It had been okay a couple years ago (which was a positive change from his days under Del Negro where he was benched at times due to awful defense) but since the knee injury, his defense is a weakness again. There is too much emphasis on scoring from the point guard position on all too many teams these days. It has resulted in far too many point guards that lack great ball-handling skills, turn the ball over far too often and fail to run their teams offense efficiently. Rose is overrated as far as I am concerned. He will have some unreal nights scoring the ball, but his overall game is not "great". I would take Chris Paul over Rose any day.

Can any of us speak with authority on what Rose's game is or isn't post-injury? I'm practically treating him as a new player at this point.

That's a fair point. But his defense and assist to turnover ratio were never real good even before the injury. His defense was covered up by an outstanding team defensive scheme that Thibs employs. His individual defense has long been average at best.....and all too often it's less than average. His ball-handling skills have been at issue as well. He dribbles into traps and then jumps and throws a pass that gets picked off. Hell, they teach you in high school not to do that stuff. He got away with a lot of bad habits for a few years, but teams have learned how to defend him and expose the weaknesses in his game. I'm just sorry he didn't use the time off that he had, to become more of a classic point guard. To learn all he could about getting the ball to his teammates in great positions (for them) to score. I wish he had reinvented his game and eschewed the style of play previously used, where attacking the rim and a scoring-first mindset was in place.

Why did KI just viciously attack Leash for no reason at all? This is getting very dangerous.

FF I think you're wrong about Rose. He's still not confident in his knee yet. You're still hearing him talk about it. His body is still adjusting to playing the game and the speed of the game. It may take a couple of months but he will be back and the Bulls will be better because of it. Be patient.
