He is from the Jason Goff tree.

He is a done deal that they take weeks and weeks to finally pull the trigger on. Decisive.

They are hoping for war in Syria or an asteroid hit to deflect attention away from their disaster.

It's been so long they probably need to re interview him.

Now they're talking renovation again. I thought that was a done deal too?? Isn't Ricketts supposed to be a business man? He's a punching bag.

Nothing has gone smoothly for the new regime. It's going from weird to frustrating to pissed off to fun bad. They are entering a level where I wont be able to tell the difference between real stories and onion-like satire.

It's tough to believe with enough Real. Smart. Guys. to form their own minyan making backroom deals with Rahm in the beit midrash up at North Shore Congregation Israel plus Julian Green along for the ride giving the team all that flavor.

It's all a matter of patience. You hear about guys like Almora, Soler, Baez, Edwards and Bryant and yet they are not yet at the major league level, so they are suspects as much as prospects. But with all the good young players they have traded for, drafted and signed (international) already, it won't be too much longer. By the way, Reteria will be the next Manager.

Drinky is an idiot. He was completely on board with Bernsy n his "Girardi sources", then after Girardi signed he said he knew all along Girardi was never coming to the Cubs. Drinky has no sources and claims hes known its Renteria since October 10th (clearly he is guessing). There are a lot of Cubs bloggers who are really good at what they do and probably laugh at Drinky trying to break news with absolutely no information to back his statement. Its clear the Cubs want Lovullo and i hope they do sign him so Drinky can move onto blogging about the Chicago Fire or something.

If he is, it's not because you are doing anything more than guessing. Let me ask you something, if he's the next manager why don't they just hire him instead of looking like they are indecisive fools?

The only saving grace I think of is the Bears comparison. Emery looked like a dope interviewing 721 people for the job but early returns have been positive for Trestman.

They are just putting together the details on the terms. They had a candidate they wanted to speak with but were denied the opportunity. At this point it's decided.

Does Drinky have a special "Cubs Expert" twitter account that he uses to break Cubs news while sitting on Mike Quade's lap? That whole thing still cracks me up.

I just saw Danny Knobler and Jon Heyman wrote 22 hours ago Renteria was the favorite and a decision will be made Thursday, then 6 hours later Drinky says Renteria will be the next manager. It all makes sense now, he has no sources he just guesses based off of what the big shots write.

Are you seriously this dense?

There are posts even on this site from three four days ago about it. It was reported on every radio station.

I never considered you were wrong, because it was common knowledge on monday. Why do you think STB kept saying how do you get this "inside information" and "sleeper pick"?
