Hey!!!! How about this one? They tortured Mike Murphy for years. Made it an uncomfortable work environment for him.

True, they never called Murph the N word, extorted 15k or threatened to kill him, but it sure as hell was bullying in the work place. Can't say it wasn't.

I want the Radio union to eliminate this type of thing. It's just nonsense. There is no place for it.

No but they did HEAVILY imply he was gay....just to touch on all the subjects of the week.

Beardown, right on the money once again. That move to the East Coast must have cleared the head.

I like that they turned it around and made it sound like North (people who watch too many mafia movies) and Murph were the ones who made everyone's lives miserable back on Belmont, while it should be obvious that the people on what we call Team Bernstein have treated people like crap more than those guys ever did.

There's a Boers and Bernstein parody account on Twitter, interestingly enough, that calls itself @Bullies670 where they've been making fun of B&B being bullies for a while. I'll give you a 9 for this one, Beardown.

YEP! What gets me this is hazing on the public airwaves. Somebody that works with you talking shit on the air. That's low.

Absolutely. B&B were also "Bully breeders". Drink and Goff, of course. Look at all the insults those two B&B producers have dished out to Score people under Bernstein's cover. Goff harassed the hell out of McNeil. We covered that as it was going on. Then Mac confronted his bully. Goff weaseled out and blamed me. That's the classic bully. Tough guy until confronted.

Nothing wrong with some good natured ribbing but it just sounds mean more often than not.

I have to imagine that as long as you weren't out and out hostile towards North he probably treated you pretty great.....Murph probably not so much

Hang a star on that catch.
The Murph thing covers both bullying and the "Gay" hypocrisy of Mr. 5'8.............and .5"
They're sooooo supportive of gay rights but the word gay can easily be replaced by weird, odd or gross in most of their jokes.
Insert the word "black" in the same jokes and it would obviously have them fired.

Here's hoping if "bullying" makes the Important Radio rolodex that callers bring up Murph on a regular basis.
Even if you couldn't care less about Murph catching the Score King and Crypt keeper in this obvious of a contradiction is hilarious.

I don't know, I think most of Murph treating his producers like shit was rooted in how a lot of them were Really Dumb People of whom he expected too much. I mean, one of them was Abbatacola, the guy behind "hey, what's better, air conditioning or bacon?", which makes Swami Murph seem about as nuanced as Mundane Sports Achievements.

 I unironically miss the Murph experience. Just fans talking to fans seems so quaint. Now everything has to be a hot take or needs to be vetted through Bernstein's filter before it gets on the air. Sometimes the meatballs are what makes the pasta you know.

Yeah, I think the North/M&H/Murph/B&B lineup was the best they ever had. It was the best balance of different sports talk audiences, and B&B was still about being funny and different rather than riding Twitter all day and going up Matt Bowen's ass. Mully & Hanley were sheltered very well in the 10-noon slot, as was Murph. North wasn't my thing, but he's other people's thing, and besides, he was kicked upstairs to mornings where no one's really jonesing for sports talk anyway.

The evenings were certainly better with Murph, especially after a Cubs game (loss). I also think his producers had to actually work, as his show seemed to involve a lot of preparation... as opposed to now where every show feels like they're just winging it. As CH said, you need some variety.

Murhp is a throwback to old timey radio. I kind of miss that.

I had no problem with him with my encounters, though they were brief.

The Little Guy was kind of a jag to me at times, but I was all like...."whatevs!" Damn interns gettin' in the way of shit!
He probably didn't even realize it.

I miss it too. My favorite morning show ever was Murph and Fred. Nothing groundbreaking just some old time radio schtick and they had the good grace not to beat national stories to death like Mike and Mike or fucking scream at me first thing in the morning like Mully

Yeah, that's probably why they hated him, but I'd also guess that he was especially abrasive about it and they were especially stupid. Mac's show, may it rest in peace, was production-intensive too, but he's always treated his producers well, and he's also had producers who seemed to have a genuine zeal for that side of radio and didn't just sit around pouting that they weren't Big Radio Stars yet.

Sports radio should be a three-ring circus. If you don't like one act, you'll like another one. Dan and Drinky and Leery and Connor McKnight can all jerk one another off about how intelligent the station has become by getting rid of North and Murph (and you'd better believe they'll dance on Mac's grave when the dirt settles in), but I don't think it's good for the station to just be one thing. I don't even think it does that one thing well.

I agree with that.

We've heard drinky. He is a dumb and a jack ass. That can't be disputed. So Murph hated him. You can now understand that. So what? Murph probably asked him to do stuff. God forbid. So drink hated him.

B&B don't ask drinky to do anything. He just answers the phones. Plus B&B allow him to jump on the air, say stupid stuff, and act an ass.

Murph seemed as big of a prick and dope as B&B are, just in a slightly different way.

It isn't as if Team bernstein were the only ones who had a beef with Murph. It seems like he was pretty much reviled by everyone. Mully can't stand him.

Im not sure a more accurate term exists for Bernstein's role at the Score than "bully"

He goes around throwing the update guys into lockers constantly and he takes the young ones lunch money (dominates their opinion)

Murph really had the perfect 6-10 shift show. Let the callers talk for as long as they want, present unusual guests with novel takes on sports situations and spend half an hour on segments. I am really shocked he doesn't have a show somewhere on the radio

So Beardown, are you going to craft this into a WYC for today. You can send it via e-mail

No. Somebody else can send it in if they want.

1. Bernstein wouldn't read it.

2. If he did, he and Boers would say it's the dumbest email they've ever gotten. They would say it wasn't bullying. But it was.

Is it possibily because he's as big an assbag as the stories suggest?
